Method and System of Wagering on a Multi-Game Dependent Game

Abstract

The present invention provides a system and method of wagering on a game of chance. The game of chance is divided into individual games selected from a number of different games to be played. The games are of a type whereby each game consists of two teams and each game results in a winner and a loser. Prior to initiation of each game, one of the teams from each game is selected to be the winner. Upon completion of play of all individual games, the game winners are compared to the teams selected to win and if the result meets or exceeds an associated paytable, an award associated with the paytable result is provided.

1 . A system for playing a multi-game dependent game in conjunction with a plurality of individual games comprising:
 memory for storing information regarding a plurality of games to be played wherein each of said games will comprise two teams wherein one team will be a winner and one team will be a loser upon completion of play;   a processor for processing computer code;   a display device for displaying graphic and video images;   an input means to enable input used by said processor;   computer code processed by the processor to:
 i) display the plurality of games to be played on the display device; 
 ii) select through the input means one of the two teams from each of a set number of said plurality of games; and 
 iii) store said selections in said memory; 
 iv) assign a winner designator to each team after completion of each of said set number of games to the team that was the winner in said game; 
 v) determine a matching number corresponding to the number of said teams assigned the winner designator that were also selected through the input means; and 
   an award distribution means to provide an award when the matching number exceeds a predetermined threshold number.   
     
     
         2 . The system of  claim 1  wherein said game is a sporting event. 
     
     
         3 . The system of  claim 1  further comprising:
 a wager input means for making a wager to play the multi-game dependent game. 
 
     
     
         4 . The system of  claim 1  further comprising:
 a wager input means for making a wager on an outcome for each of said set number of games wherein an award is provided by the award distribution means for each of said outcomes that are achieved. 
 
     
     
         5 . The system of  claim 1  further comprising:
 a paytable having more than one predetermined threshold number wherein the value of said award is associated with the highest achieved predetermined threshold number of the paytable. 
 
     
     
         6 . The system of  claim 3  further comprising:
 A paytable having more than one predetermined threshold number wherein the value of said award is associated with the highest achieved predetermined threshold number of the paytable. 
 
     
     
         7 . The system of  claim 1  further comprising a loser designator to the one of two teams that is the loser and wherein the matching number corresponds to the number of said teams assigned the loser designator that were also selected through the input means. 
     
     
         8 . The system of  claim 1  wherein the winner designator is assigned to one of said two teams if said team beats a spread. 
     
     
         9 . The system of  claim 6  wherein said set number of said plurality of games comprises at least two sets with each having a different number of said plurality of games. 
     
     
         10 . The system of  claim 9  wherein each of said set number of said plurality of games is associated with a paytable that is distinct from the paytable associated with each of the other of said set number of said plurality of games. 
     
     
         11 . A method of playing a multi-game dependent game in conjunction with a plurality of individual games comprising the steps of:
 providing a plurality of games to be played between two teams wherein each game will have a winner and a loser;   selecting one of said two teams from each of a set number of said plurality of games;   playing each of said set number of games to completion;   assigning to the winner of the two teams from each of said set number of games a winner designation;   determining a matching number that corresponds to the number of the teams assigned the winner designation from the set number of games that were also selected as the one of two teams;   providing an award if the matching number exceeds a predetermined threshold number.   
     
     
         12 . The method of  claim 11  wherein the game is a sporting event. 
     
     
         13 . The method of  claim 11  further comprising the step of:
 making a wager that the matching number will exceed the predetermined threshold number. 
 
     
     
         14 . The method of  claim 11  further comprising the step of:
 selecting one of at least two predetermined threshold numbers of a paytable wherein the award is provided when the matching number exceeds the selected predetermined threshold number. 
 
     
     
         15 . The method of  claim 14  wherein the value of the award is associated with the selected predetermined threshold number. 
     
     
         16 . The method of  claim 11  wherein the predetermined threshold number is comprised of at least two predetermined threshold numbers in a paytable and the value of the award is associated with the highest achieved predetermined threshold number. 
     
     
         17 . The method of  claim 11  further comprising the step of:
 assigning a loser designation to the one of the two teams from each of the set number of plurality of games that was the loser, wherein the matching number corresponds to the number of said teams assigned the loser designator that were also selected and the award is provided if the matching number exceeds a predetermined secondary threshold number. 
 
     
     
         18 . The method of  claim 11  further comprising the step of:
 wagering on the outcome of at least one of the set number of said plurality of games; 
 providing an award if the outcome is achieved. 
 
     
     
         19 . The method of  claim 11  further comprising the step of:
 selecting the set number of said plurality of games from at least two different set numbers. 
 
     
     
         20 . The method of  claim 11  wherein the winner designation is assigned if the team that is the winner beats a spread.
