Method and system for enabling wireless control in tools by use of portable power supply systems with embedded communication components
Abstract
Methods and systems are provided for enabling wireless control of devices via portable power supply components. A power supply component may be configured to store and discharge power, which may be configured for use to supply power to a first device, may be additionally configured to pair the first device with a second device; to determine power related data associated with the power supply component, to generate one or more control messages based on the power related data; and to wirelessly communicate the one or more control messages to the second device. The power related data may include information relating to one or more conditions associated with use of power stored in the power supply component. The one or more control messages may be configured for controlling at least a portion of operations of the second device

21 . A method, comprising:
pairing a first device with a second device; determining power related data associated with a power supply component configured for use in a first device to supply power, wherein the power related data comprises information relating to one or more conditions associated with use of power stored in the power supply component; generating based on the power related data, one or more messages, wherein the one or more messages are configured for controlling at least a portion of operations of the second device; and wirelessly communicating the one or more messages to the second device.
22 . The method of claim 21 , wherein the information comprises a real-time indication of use of power stored in the power supply component.
23 . The method of claim 21 , wherein the one or more conditions comprise drawing power from the power supply component when operating the first device.
24 . The method of claim 21 , wherein the one or more conditions comprise ceasing to draw power from the power supply component when operating the first device is ceased.
25 . The method of claim 21 , comprising configuring at least one message to control the second device based on operation of the first device.
26 . The method of claim 25 , comprising configuring the at least one message to control the second device based on active operation of the first device.
27 . The method of claim 26 , comprising configuring the at least one message to activate or power on the second device when the first device is actively operated.
28 . The method of claim 25 , comprising configuring the at least one message to control the second device based on the first device ceasing to operate.
29 . The method of claim 28 , wherein the at least one message is configured to deactivate or power off the second device when the first device ceases to operate.
30 . The method of claim 21 , comprising configuring at least one message to provide an indication relating to use of the first device.
31 . The method of claim 30 , comprising configuring the at least one message to indicate when the first device is actively being used.
32 . A system, comprising:
a power supply component configured for use to supply power to a first device; the power supply component comprising:
one or more power storage elements operable to store and discharge power; and
one or more circuits operable to:
pair the first device with a second device;
determine power related data associated with the power supply component, wherein the power related data comprises information relating to one or more conditions associated with use of power stored in the power supply component;
generate based on the power related data, one or more messages, wherein the one or more messages are configured for controlling at least a portion of operations of the second device; and
wirelessly communicate the one or more messages to the second device.
33 . The system of claim 32 , wherein the one or more circuits are operable to configure at least one message to control the second device based on operation of the first device.
34 . The system of claim 33 , wherein the one or more circuits are operable to configure the at least one message to control the second device based on active operation of the first device.
35 . The system of claim 34 , wherein the one or more circuits are operable to configure the at least one message to activate or power on the second device when the first device is actively operated.
36 . The system of claim 33 , wherein the one or more circuits are operable to configure the at least one message to control the second device based on the first device ceasing to operate.
37 . The system of claim 36 , wherein the one or more circuits are operable to configure the at least one message to deactivate or power off the second device when the first device ceases to operate.
38 . The system of claim 32 , wherein the one or more circuits are operable to configure at least one message to provide an indication relating to use of the first device.
39 . The system of claim 38 , wherein the one or more circuits are operable to configure the at least one message to indicate when the first device is actively being used.
40 . The system of claim 32 , wherein the power supply component comprises a battery, and the one or more circuits comprise a wireless transmitter incorporated into the battery packaging.
41 . The system of claim 32 , wherein the one or more circuits are configured into a Printed Circuit Board (PCB).Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
