Claims

Abstract

The invention relates to a device (10) to dispense paper sections of a predetermined length, comprising a device (26), operated by pulling on an end (74) of the paper web, for separating the paper sections from a paper web (24) wound onto a paper roll (22), and to provide easy manual access to the paper web (24) that follows after the separated paper section has been released, whereby the device (26) comprises at least one cutting roller (40) with a width that corresponds to at least the entire width of the paper web and a knife (42) that extends substantially over the entire side of the roller and protrudes rigidly from a roller shell, whereby associated with the cutting roller (40) is a pressure roller (44), which has a slit-shaped opening (46) that corresponds to the knife and is coupled to the cutting roller via geared wheels (52, 56; 54, 58). In order to be able to cut and automatically dispense paper web of high strength and elasticity in a reliable and trouble-free manner, it is intended that a geared wheel (52, 56; 54, 58), which is coupled to the cutting roller (40) or to the pressure roller (44), is eccentrically coupled to a tension spring (80), that pulling the end (74) of the paper web results in the paper web (24) being stretched tightly over a circumferential surface (72) of the pressure roller (44), and being sectionally cut, while maintaining some uncut strands, by the penetration of the knife (42) from the outside into the slit-shaped opening (46), in order to effect both a severing of the paper section as well as an elongation of the tension spring (80) up to a turn-around point, and that after the turn-around point has been overcome, both the cutting roller (40) and the pressure roller (44) continue to be rotated in opposite directions by the contraction of the tension spring (80) to dispense the paper section and a new paper end.

What is claimed: 
     
         1 . A device ( 10 ) for dispensing paper sections of a predetermined length, with a device ( 26 ), which is operated by pulling the end ( 74 ) of a paper web and serves to separate the paper sections from the paper web ( 24 ) wound onto a paper roll ( 22 ) and to provide easy manual access to the paper web ( 24 ) following the release of the separated paper section, whereby the device ( 26 ) comprises at least one cutting roller ( 40 ) with a width corresponding to at least the entire width of the paper web, and with a knife ( 42 ), which extends substantially across the entire roller width and protrudes rigidly from the roller shell, whereby associated with the cutting roller ( 40 ) is a pressure roller ( 44 ), which has a slit-shaped opening ( 46 ) corresponding to the knife ( 42 ), and which is coupled to the cutting roller ( 40 ) via the geared wheels ( 52 ,  56 ;  54 ,  58 ),
 characterized in that   a geared wheel ( 52 ,  56 ;  54 ,  58 ) that is coupled to the cutting roller ( 40 ) or the pressure roller ( 44 ) is eccentrically coupled to a tension spring ( 80 ), in that pulling the end ( 74 ) of the paper band results in the paper web ( 24 ) being stretched tightly along a circumferential surface ( 72 ) of the pressure roller ( 44 ) and being cut sectionally with strands remaining intact by the penetration of the knife ( 42 ) from the outside into the slit-shaped opening ( 46 ), to effect both a separation of the paper section and tensioning the tension spring ( 80 ) up to a turn-around point, and in that after overcoming the turn-around point, both the cutting roller ( 40 ) and the pressure roller ( 44 ) continue to be moved in opposite directions by the contraction of the tension spring ( 80 ) to dispense the paper section and the new paper end.   
     
     
         2 . The device of  claim 1 ,
 characterized in that   a first end of the tension spring ( 80 ) is connected eccentrically to the geared wheel ( 52 ) of the cutting roller ( 40 ), and in that a second end of the tension spring ( 80 ) is connected to a part of the housing, whereby an effective line ( 88 ) of the tension spring ( 80 ) extends perpendicular to a line ( 90 ) that connects the axles ( 48 ,  50 ) of the geared wheels ( 52 ,  56 ;  54 ,  58 ).   
     
     
         3 . The device of  claim 1 ,
 characterized in that   the geared wheels ( 52 ,  56 ;  54 ,  58 ) form a transmission with a 1:1 transmission ratio.   
     
     
         4 . The device of  claim 1 ,
 characterized in that   a circumferential surface ( 134 ) of the cutting roller ( 40 ) is arranged at a distance from a circumferential surface ( 72 ) of the pressure roller ( 44 ).   
     
     
         5 . The device of  claim 1 ,
 characterized in that   the knife ( 42 ) comprises a knife blade ( 114 ) with teeth ( 120 ,  126 ) and/or groups of teeth ( 122 ,  124 ), which are spaced apart along the length of the blade ( 114 ), whereby the teeth ( 120 ,  126 ) and/or groups of teeth ( 122 ,  124 ) are separated from each other by cut-outs ( 128 ,  130 ,  132 ), and in that each of the cut-outs ( 128 ,  130 ,  132 ) comprises two cutting edges ( 162 ,  164 ,  166 ,  168 ), which extend parallel to each other and transversely to the longitudinal extent of the knife ( 42 ), and in that at least one of the cutting edges ( 162 ,  164 ,  166 ,  168 ) is a cutting edge of a tooth ( 120 ,  126 ) bordering the cut-out ( 128 ,  132 ) or of the group of teeth ( 122 ,  124 ) bordering the cut-out ( 128 ,  130 ,  132 ).   
     
     
         6 . The device of  claim 1 ,
 characterized in that   the slit-shaped opening ( 46 ) of the pressure roller ( 44 ) comprises bridges ( 106 ,  108 ,  110 ) that extend along the circumferential direction, whereby a width and a spacing between the bridges ( 106 ,  108 ,  110 ) corresponds to a width and a spacing between the cut-outs ( 128 ,  130 ,  132 ) in the knife, so that during a relative movement between the cutting roller ( 40 ) and the pressure roller ( 44 ) the bridges ( 106 ,  108 ,  110 ) engage into the cut-outs ( 128 ,  130 ,  132 ) of the knife and interact with the adjacent cutting edges ( 162 ,  164 ,  166 ,  168 ) in a scissor-like manner.   
     
     
         7 . The device of  claim 1 ,
 characterized in that   the knife ( 42 ) has a knife edge ( 112 ), which protrudes from a cutting roller ( 40 ) and forms an angled section.   
     
     
         8 . The device of  claim 1 ,
 characterized in that   the angled section comprises the teeth ( 120 ,  126 ) and/or groups of teeth ( 122 ,  124 ) and is angled relative to the blade ( 144 ) along a deflection line at an angle α with 15°≤α≤50°, preferably α=35°   
     
     
         9 . The device of  claim 1 ,
 characterized in that   the cutting roller ( 40 ) comprises two sections ( 116 ,  118 ) of preferably semi-circular cross-section and in that the blade ( 114 ) of the knife is fixed in position, e.g. clamped, between the semi-circular sections ( 116 ,  118 ).   
     
     
         10 . The device of  claim 1 ,
 characterized in that   the cutting roller ( 40 ) comprises circumferential grooves ( 136 ,  138 ,  140 ) along its circumferential surface ( 134 ), each of which corresponds to one of the cut-outs ( 128 ,  130 ,  132 ), and in that the width and the depth of the groove preferably correspond to the width and the depth of the cut-out.   
     
     
         11 . The device of  claim 1 ,
 characterized in that   the spacing of the bridges ( 106 ,  108 ,  110 ) of the pressure roller ( 44 ) corresponds to a width of the group of teeth ( 122 ,  124 ) of the knife edge.
