Abstract

Described herein is a method using an assembly having a guide-wire having distally a flexible tip, and a guide-wire kit having comprising an introduction element of the guide-wire, a torque body, proximal to the introduction element, which includes blocking element of the guide-wire to-the body, and a slide control which defines a support surface for the guide-wire, manually accessible to control (roto-)translations of the guide-wire, thereby orientations and/or sliding of the flexible tip, when the blocking element is in a release configuration. The torque body, the introduction element and the slide control are each diesengageable, independently of the others, from the guide-wire in a radial direction.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

1 . Method of using, inside or outside the human body, an assembly of a guide-wire comprising the steps of:
providing a guide-wire which extends along a main direction and which comprises distally a flexible tip; providing an introduction element of the guide-wire kit, which identifies an inner space and which is tapered in a distal direction; inserting the guide-wire in the inner space of the introduction element; providing a slide control of the guide-wire kit, which defines a support surface for the guide-wire; manually controlling (roto-)translations of the guide-wire, thereby orientations and/or sliding of the flexible tip, working with a finger/thumb on the support surface and on the guide-wire; disengaging the introduction element and/or the slide control from the guide-wire in a radial direction; and preferably comprising the further steps of: providing a torque body of the guide-wire kit, which delimits internally a longitudinal passage and which comprises blocking means of said guide-wire in relation to said body, suitable for being reversibly switched; housing part of the guide-wire in the longitudinal passage in a radial direction; proximally to the introduction element, connecting the torque body to the slide control, for example by means of a shaped coupling, so that said slide projects in part from the torque body in a distal direction; optionally disengaging the torque body from the guide-wire in a radial direction.

2 . Method of mounting a guide-wire assembly comprising the steps of:
providing an introduction element of a guide-wire in an artery, which identifies an inner space and which is tapered in a distal direction to create an opening through an introduction catheter; providing a torque body, proximal to the introduction element, which delimits internally a longitudinal passage and which comprises blocking means of said guide-wire to said body, suitable for being reversibly switched between a retention configuration wherein said means work on such guide wire to block it, and a release configuration to permit movements of the guide-wire in relation to said body; providing a slide control which defines a support surface for the guide-wire, manually accessible to control (roto-)translations of the guide-wire, therefore orientations and/or sliding of the flexible tip, when said means are in the release configuration; connecting the torque body, the introduction element and the slide control to each other.

3 . Mounting method according to claim 2 , comprising a step of receiving, partially or mainly, the slide control in a slide seat of the torque body to retain the guide-wire in the torque body.

4 . Mounting method according to claim 2 , comprising the steps of:
providing a guide-wire which extends along a main direction and which comprises distally a flexible tip; said guide-wire being housed and progressively fed from a guide-wire container; making the guide-wire transit in the inner space of the introduction element, in the longitudinal passage of the torque body and on the support surface of the slide control; attaching the guide-wire container proximally to the torque body and/or to the slide control.
