Scoopable Instant Protein Bone- or Meat-Based Protein Supplement Powder

Abstract

There is disclosed an instant (agglomerated particle) scoopable protein food supplement powder composition containing at least 70%, more preferably 80%, and most preferably 85-90% animal protein or molecules derived therefrom, carbohydrate less than 10% and preferably undetectable, sodium less than 5% and preferably less than 200 mg per serving, ideally approximately 150 mg per serving. The powder composition is suitable for direct consumer consumption as is or as incorporated in functional foods and beverages of widespread kinds.

I claim: 
     
         1 . A composition for direct consumer consumption, comprising: a scoopable, instant agglomerated protein powder derived primarily from animal muscle, wherein said protein powder contains at least 70% animal protein, no added salt, and further has agglomerated particles in a size range between 30-100 mesh. 
     
     
         2 . The composition according to  claim 1 , wherein said no added salt is no added sodium. 
     
     
         3 . A composition for direct consumer consumption, comprising: a scoopable, instant agglomerated protein powder derived primarily from animal bone and bone marrow, wherein said protein powder contains at least 70% animal protein, no added salt, and further has agglomerated particles in a size range between 30-100 mesh. 
     
     
         4 . The composition according to  claim 3 , wherein said no added salt is no added sodium. 
     
     
         5 . A scoopable, instant protein powder containing at least 70% animal protein, no added salt, with agglomerated particles in a size range between 30-100 mesh, further incorporated into a dry consumer product further comprising one of a nutritional supplement, a functional food, or a meal replacement supplement. 
     
     
         6 . The scoopable, instant protein powder of  claim 5 , wherein said dry consumer product is selected from the group consisting of popcorn and popcorn coatings, pretzels and pretzel coatings, granola-type or cold-cereal based sweet or savory snack mixes, potato chips, and cookie or food bar coatings. 
     
     
         7 . The scoopable, instant protein powder of  claim 5 , wherein said dry consumer product is a meal replacement food bar. 
     
     
         8 . A scoopable, instant protein powder containing at least 70% animal protein, no added salt, with agglomerated particles in a size range between 30-100 mesh, further incorporated into a consumer product containing a moisture content or designed to be further admixed with water or another liquid. 
     
     
         9 . The scoopable, instant protein powder of  claim 8 , wherein said protein powder is incorporated into one or more functional beverages as a nutritional supplement, or one or more functional foods as a nutritional supplement or meal replacement comestible. 
     
     
         10 . The scoopable, instant protein powder of  claim 8 , wherein said consumer product is selected from the group consisting of juice, juice powders, coffee or powdered or instant coffee, tea or powdered or instant tea, cocoa or powdered or instant cocoa, botanical drinks or powdered or instant botanical drinks, chewing gum, soft candy, dessert products, cake frostings, mayonnaise, salad dressing, condiments, applesauce, baby food and food purees.
