Abstract
Disclosed herein are methods and systems for receiving an encoded data packet, one or more activation commands, and a communication identifier, decoding the received data packet, validating the decoded received data packet, and executing one or more routines associated with the respective one or more activation commands.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 - 36 . (canceled)
37 . A method, comprising:
establishing a communication range between a transmitter unit and a receiver unit by placing the receiver unit within a predetermined distance from the transmitter unit; transmitting, from the receiver unit, a plurality of encoded data packets to the transmitter unit when the receiver unit is within the predetermined distance, the plurality of encoded data packets including a plurality of close proximity commands, wherein the transmitter unit decodes and validates the encoded data packets and executes a plurality of routines associated with the plurality of close proximity commands, the executed plurality of routines including a power on routine and a sensor initiation routine, the sensor initiation routine causing transmission of the transmitter's identification information to the receiver unit; and receiving, by the receiver unit, analyte level information from the transmitter unit.
38 . The method of claim 37 , wherein the transmitter unit decodes the received plurality of data packets using Manchester decoding.
39 . The method of claim 37 , wherein the plurality of routines are associated with the operation of an analyte monitoring device.
40 . The method of claim 37 , further comprising transmitting, from the receiver unit, an additional encoded data packet to the transmitter unit when the receiver unit is within the predetermined distance, the additional encoded data packet including an additional close proximity command and the identification information, wherein the transmitter unit decodes and validates the additional encoded data packet and executes a data transfer initiation routine associated with the additional close proximity command.
41 . The method of claim 37 , wherein the analyte level information is glucose level information.
42 . The method of claim 37 , wherein the predetermined distance is one foot or less.
43 . A receiver unit, comprising:
a communication interface adapted to establish wireless communication with a transmitter unit when positioned within a predetermined distance from the transmitter unit; a processor coupled to the communication interface; and a memory storing instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the receiver unit to communicate a plurality of encoded data packets to the transmitter unit, the plurality of encoded data packets including a plurality of close proximity commands that are adapted to cause the transmitter unit to execute a plurality of routines associated with the plurality of close proximity commands, the executed plurality of routines including a power on routine and a sensor initiation routine, the sensor initiation routine causing transmission of the transmitter's identification information to the receiver unit, wherein the instructions, when executed by the processor, further cause the receiver unit to process analyte level information subsequently received from the transmitter unit.
44 . The receiver unit of claim 43 , further comprising a test strip interface.
45 . The receiver unit of claim 43 , wherein the instructions, when executed by the processor, cause the receiver unit to communicate an additional encoded data packet to the transmitter unit, wherein the additional encoded data packet includes an additional close proximity command adapted to cause the transmitter unit to execute a data transfer initiation routine associated with the close proximity command.
46 . The receiver unit of claim 43 , wherein the analyte level information is glucose level information.
47 . The receiver unit of claim 43 , wherein the predetermined distance is one foot or less.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
