Abstract

A method of controlling a wireless power receiver can include detecting a wireless power transmitter that transmits wireless power having a first frequency band through in-band communication; receiving the wireless power having the first frequency band from the wireless power transmitter that transmits the wireless power having the first frequency band; in response to determining that a power receiving state of the first frequency band is abnormal, detecting a wireless power transmitter that transmits wireless power having a second frequency band through out-of-band communication; and receiving the wireless power having the second frequency band from the wireless power transmitter that transmits the wireless power having the second frequency band.

1 . A method of controlling a wireless power receiver, the method comprising:
 detecting a wireless power transmitter that transmits wireless power having a first frequency band through in-band communication;   receiving the wireless power having the first frequency band from the wireless power transmitter that transmits the wireless power having the first frequency band;   in response to determining that a power receiving state of the first frequency band is abnormal, detecting a wireless power transmitter that transmits wireless power having a second frequency band through out-of-band communication; and   receiving the wireless power having the second frequency band from the wireless power transmitter that transmits the wireless power having the second frequency band.   
     
     
         2 . The method according to  claim 1 , wherein the receiving of the wireless power having the first frequency band includes determining the power receiving state of the wireless power receiver through in-band communication. 
     
     
         3 . The method according to  claim 1 , wherein the receiving of the wireless power having the second frequency band includes determining the power receiving state of the wireless power receiver through out-of-band communication. 
     
     
         4 . The method according to  claim 1 , wherein the first frequency band is lower than the second frequency band. 
     
     
         5 . The method according to  claim 4 , wherein the first frequency band is in a range of 110 KHz to 205 KHz. 
     
     
         6 . The method according to  claim 5 , wherein the second frequency band is 6.78 MHz. 
     
     
         7 . The method according to  claim 1 , further comprising:
 terminating wireless power reception of the first frequency band, prior to receiving the wireless power having the second frequency band.   
     
     
         8 . The method according to  claim 1 , further comprising:
 detecting a wireless power transmitter that transmits wireless power having a third frequency band.   
     
     
         9 . The method according to  claim 8 , further comprising:
 receiving the wireless power having the third frequency band from the wireless power transmitter having the third frequency band.   
     
     
         10 . The method according to  claim 9 , wherein the receiving of the wireless power having the third frequency band includes changing an inductance of a reception coil in the wireless power receiver to match a used frequency band of the wireless power receiver to the third frequency band. 
     
     
         11 . The method according to  claim 10 , wherein the changing the inductance of the reception coil includes adjusting a length of the of the reception coil. 
     
     
         12 . The method according to  claim 10 , wherein the changing the inductance of the reception coil includes adjusting a variable capacitor in the wireless power receiver. 
     
     
         13 . The method according to  claim 8 , wherein the third frequency band is in a range of 206 KHz to 300 KHz. 
     
     
         14 . The method according to  claim 1 , wherein the receiving of the wireless power having the first frequency band includes increasing an inductance of a reception coil in the wireless power receiver to match a used frequency band of the wireless power receiver to the first frequency band. 
     
     
         15 . The method according to  claim 14 , wherein the increasing the inductance of the reception coil includes increasing a length of the reception coil. 
     
     
         16 . The method according to  claim 14 , wherein matching the used frequency band of the wireless power receiver to the first frequency band further includes adjusting a variable capacitor in the wireless power receiver. 
     
     
         17 . The method according to  claim 14 , wherein the receiving of the wireless power having the second frequency band includes decreasing the inductance of the reception coil in the wireless power receiver to match a used frequency band of the wireless power receiver to the second frequency band. 
     
     
         18 . The method according to  claim 17 , wherein the decreasing the inductance of the reception coil includes decreasing a length of the of the reception coil. 
     
     
         19 . The method according to  claim 17 , wherein matching the used frequency band of the wireless power receiver to the second frequency band further includes adjusting a variable capacitor in the wireless power receiver.
