Claims

Abstract

A display device includes a display panel, a cover glass disposed on the display panel, and a biometric sensor device disposed below the display panel. The biometric sensor device includes a printed circuit board, a biometric sensor disposed on the printed circuit board, and a housing disposed on the printed circuit board and in which an opening is formed. The biometric sensor is disposed in the opening of the housing and is attached to a surface of the display panel through the housing.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A mobile electronic device comprising:
 a display panel including a first surface for displaying a screen and a second surface opposite to the first surface; and   a biometric sensor module configured to collect a signal relating to biometric information through the first surface,   wherein the biometric sensor module includes:   a printed circuit board;   a sensor placed on the printed circuit board; and   a housing in which the sensor is received,   wherein the housing includes an opening area through which at least a portion of the sensor is exposed,   wherein the opening area of the housing is disposed below the second surface such that the at least a portion of the sensor is directed toward the second surface, and   wherein the mobile electronic device further comprises a first adhesive layer disposed between the second surface and the housing.   
     
     
         2 . The mobile electronic device of  claim 1 , further comprising at least one of:
 a metal sheet placed on a rear surface of the printed circuit board;   an optical layer disposed on at least a partial area of the sensor; or   an optical filter layer disposed on at least a partial area of the optical layer;   
     
     
         3 . The mobile electronic device of  claim 2 , the optical filter layer is disposed apart from the second surface of the display panel by a specified distance. 
     
     
         4 . The mobile electronic device of  claim 1 , further comprising:
 a rear layer disposed below the second surface of the display panel,   wherein the rear layer includes an opening formed such that the signal relating to the biometric information is transferred to the sensor.   
     
     
         5 . The mobile electronic device of  claim 4 , wherein the opening includes:
 a first opening formed in a portion of the rear layer and having a section with a first area; and   a second opening formed in the remaining portion of the rear layer and having a section with a second area, the first opening at least partially overlapping with the second opening.   
     
     
         6 . The mobile electronic device of  claim 5 , wherein the second opening is disposed under the first opening; and
 wherein a cross section of the second opening is larger than a cross section of the first opening.   
     
     
         7 . The mobile electronic device of  claim 5 , wherein the first adhesive layer is disposed between a periphery of the second opening of the rear layer and the housing. 
     
     
         8 . The mobile electronic device of  claim 4 , wherein the first adhesive member is disposed between the rear layer and the housing. 
     
     
         9 . The mobile electronic device of  claim 8 , further comprising:
 an optical layer disposed on at least a partial area of the sensor;   wherein the height from the printed circuit board to the first adhesive layer is greater than or equal to the height from the printed circuit board to the optical layer.   
     
     
         10 . The mobile electronic device of  claim 1 , wherein the housing is attached to the second surface by using the first adhesive member. 
     
     
         11 . The mobile electronic device of  claim 1 , wherein the sensor is a fingerprint sensor. 
     
     
         12 . The mobile electronic device of  claim 1 , wherein the printed circuit board has an inwardly concave corner, and
 wherein the housing has a corner protruding outward from the printed circuit board.   
     
     
         13 . The mobile electronic device of  claim 1 , wherein the sensor has a rectangular shape. 
     
     
         14 . The mobile electronic device of  claim 1 , wherein the biometric sensor module is disposed apart from the second surface of the display panel by a specified distance. 
     
     
         15 . The mobile electronic device of  claim 1 , further comprising:
 a second adhesive member bonds with the housing, the display panel, and the first adhesive layer.   
     
     
         16 . The mobile electronic device of  claim 15 , wherein the second adhesive member includes an adhesive resin. 
     
     
         17 . The mobile electronic device of  claim 15 , wherein the second adhesive member includes a UV adhesive.
