A set of detectably labeled probes comprising a locus-specific probe for EGFR (epidermal growth factor receptor), a locus-specific probe for DCC (deleted in colorectal carcinoma), a chromosome enumeration probe for chromosome 18 (CEP18), a locus-specific probe for 13q14 (band 14 on the q arm of chromosome 13), and a locus-specific probe for MYC (c-myc oncogene). 
     
     
         10 . The set of probes of  claim 9 , which further comprises a locus-specific probe for STAT1 (signal transducer and activator of transcription 1) and/or a locus-specific probe for AURKA (aurora kinase A).
