Sharps container and medical instruments tray bracket, fastener and support system

Abstract

Apparatus and systems herein support sharps containers and medical instruments trays, brackets, fasteners or holders on a mayo cart. Embodiments include an apparatus for attaching to a mayo cart to support a detachably mounted container, bracket or holder. A first portion has an arm extended to approximately the distance from the mayo cart vertical support pole to an outer edge of a mayo cart tray. A second portion attaches to the vertical pole proximate one end of the apparatus. A third portion attaches with the detachable container, bracket or holder proximate the opposite end of the apparatus. Embodiments may also include a detachable container, bracket or holder comprising an attachment portion to receive the third portion of the support apparatus for supportively attaching to the mayo cart. The support apparatus arm may also be extended to an adjustable length for attaching the container, bracket or holder with the mayo cart.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A detachable container, bracket or holder comprising:
 an attachment portion to receive a first attachment portion of a support apparatus for supportively attaching the detachable container, bracket or holder onto a mayo cart, the mayo cart including a vertical support pole and a mayo cart tray having a top surface and a bottom surface, and the mayo cart tray having an outer edge of the mayo cart tray, which is not adjacent to the vertical support pole of the mayo cart.   
     
     
         2 . The detachable container, bracket or holder of  claim 1 , the support apparatus having an arm operatively extended to a length of approximately a distance from the vertical support pole of the mayo cart to said outer edge of the mayo cart tray, with the first attachment portion to attach to the detachable container, bracket or holder proximate a first end of the support apparatus and opposite an end attaching the support apparatus with the vertical support pole of the mayo cart proximate the bottom surface of the mayo cart tray. 
     
     
         3 . The detachable container, bracket or holder of  claim 1  comprising: a detachable container assembly portion. 
     
     
         4 . The detachable container, bracket or holder of  claim 3 , the detachable container assembly to hold medical sharps. 
     
     
         5 . The detachable container, bracket or holder of  claim 1  comprising: a detachable instrument holder. 
     
     
         6 . The detachable container, bracket or holder of  claim 5 , the detachable instrument holder to hold a computing device. 
     
     
         7 . The detachable container, bracket or holder of  claim 5 , the detachable instrument holder to hold a cauterizing device. 
     
     
         8 . The detachable container, bracket or holder of  claim 1  comprising: a detachable container to hold medical sharps. 
     
     
         9 . The detachable container, bracket or holder of  claim 1  comprising: a detachable counterweight. 
     
     
         10 . A detachable holder for a sharps container, the detachable holder comprising:
 a first attachment portion to receive a second attachment portion of a support apparatus for supportively attaching the detachable holder for the sharps container onto a mayo cart, the mayo cart including a vertical support pole and a mayo cart tray having a top surface and a bottom surface, and the mayo cart tray having an outer edge of the mayo cart tray which is not adjacent to the vertical support pole of the mayo cart.   
     
     
         11 . The detachable holder for the sharps container of  claim 10 , the support apparatus having an arm operatively extended to a length of approximately a distance from the vertical support pole of the mayo cart to the outer edge of the mayo cart tray, with the first attachment portion to attach to the detachable holder proximate a first end of the support apparatus and opposite a second end, of the support apparatus, attaching the support apparatus with the vertical support pole of the mayo cart proximate the bottom surface of the mayo cart tray. 
     
     
         12 . The detachable holder for the sharps container of  claim 1  comprising: a detachable assembly portion of the sharps container. 
     
     
         13 . The detachable holder for the sharps container of  claim 12 , wherein the first attachment portion comprises molded plastic. 
     
     
         14 . The detachable holder for the sharps container of  claim 13 , wherein the second attachment portion comprises aluminum. 
     
     
         15 . The detachable holder for the sharps container of  claim 13 , wherein the first attachment portion comprises a ferromagnetic metal insert  365  to detachably attach with the second attachment portion of the support apparatus. 
     
     
         16 . The detachable holder for the sharps container of  claim 10 , the first attachment portion comprising:
 a snap release to detachably attach with the second attachment portion of the support apparatus.   
     
     
         17 . A system for attaching a detachable holder for a sharps container to a mayo cart, said mayo cart including a vertical support pole and a mayo cart tray having a top surface and a bottom surface, and having an outer edge of the mayo cart tray which is not adjacent to the vertical support pole, the system comprising:
 a support apparatus for supportively attaching the detachable holder for the sharps container onto the mayo cart, the support apparatus having an arm operatively extended to a length of approximately a distance from the vertical support pole of the mayo cart to the outer edge of the mayo cart tray, with a first end attaching the support apparatus to the vertical support pole of the mayo cart proximate the bottom surface of the mayo cart tray; and   a first attachment portion of the detachable holder for the sharps container to receive a second attachment portion of the support apparatus with the first attachment portion attaching to the detachable holder proximate a second end of the support apparatus opposite said first end attaching the support apparatus with the vertical support pole of the mayo cart.   
     
     
         18 . The detachable holder for the sharps container of  claim 17 , the first attachment portion comprising:
 a snap release to detachably attach with the second attachment portion of the support apparatus.   
     
     
         19 . The system for attaching a detachable holder for a sharps container of  claim 17 , wherein the first attachment portion comprises molded plastic. 
     
     
         20 . The system for attaching a detachable holder for a sharps container of  claim 17 , wherein the second attachment portion comprises aluminum.
