Exercise device for suspended body weight training
Abstract
A pulley system of an exercise device for suspended weight training includes a first block with a first pulley, a second pulley, and a first attachment point. A second block is removably coupled to a weight and includes a third pulley and a second attachment point. A grip is configured to be held by a user while exercising and has a third attachment point. A line having a first line end is fixedly coupled to the grip and a second line end fixedly is coupled to a connection element. The connection element is configured to be selectively coupled to each of the first attachment point, the second attachment point, and the third attachment point, permits a user to reduce an effective amount of the weight lifted by the user with movement of the grip to a pre-selected fraction of the weight.

8 . The pulley system of claim 7 , further comprising a fixed surface mount to which the connector of the first block is removably coupled.
9 . The pulley system of claim 1 , wherein the second block has a connector for removably coupling the weight to the second block.
10 . The pulley system of claim 9 , wherein the connector of the second block includes a swivel loop.
11 . The pulley system of claim 1 , wherein the grip has a channel formed in an outer perimeter of the grip that is configured to receive and store an excess amount of the line.
12 . The pulley system of claim 1 , wherein the weight includes one of a seat and a belt for a body of the user, the one of the seat and the belt configured to removably couple to the second block.
13 . The pulley system of claim 1 , wherein the second block further has a second attachment point.
14 . The pulley system of claim 13 , wherein the second attachment point is disposed on the second block laterally adjacent to the third pulley.
15 . The pulley system of claim 1 , wherein the grip has a third attachment point, and the connection element is configured to be selectively coupled to the third attachment point, wherein the selective coupling of the connection element to the third attachment point also permits the user to reduce the effective amount of the weight moved by the user with movement of the grip to the pre-selected fraction of the weight.
16 . The pulley system of claim 1 , wherein the pulley system is configured for use as an exercise device for fractional body weight training.
17 . A pulley system, comprising:
a first block configured to removably connect to a raised position above a floor surface, the first block having a first pulley and a second pulley; a grip configured to be held by a user; a second block having a third pulley, a second block attachment point, and a connector, the connector configured to be selectively and removably coupled with a weight or the grip; a line having a first line end fixedly coupled to a terminal ring, the terminal ring configured to be selectively and removably coupled with the grip or the weight, and a second line end fixedly coupled to a connection element configured to be selectively and removably coupled to at least one of the second block attachment point and the grip, wherein the line extends around the first pulley, around the third pulley, and around the second pulley, wherein the selective coupling of the connection element to at least one of the second block attachment point and the grip permits a user to adjust an effective amount of the weight moved by the user with movement of the grip to a pre-selected fraction of the weight; and a removable connection device configured to removably connect the grip with the terminal ring or the connection element.
18 . The pulley system of claim 17 , wherein the first block further has a first block attachment point, and the connection element is further configured to be selectively and removably coupled to the first block attachment point, and the selective coupling of the connection element to the first block attachment point permits the user to further adjust the effective amount of the weight moved by the user with movement of the grip.
