Trained data transmission for communication systems
Abstract
Various embodiments are described for a trained data transmission for communication systems. A training phase may include a first wireless station exchanging medium reservation messages with a second wireless station to reserve a medium and to select a data transmission parameter. The data transmission parameter may include a modulation scheme and a forward error correction (FEC) coding rate. At least one of the medium reservation messages may include a duration field indicating a duration for which the medium is reserved. A first data phase may include sending data from the first wireless station to the second wireless station according to the selected data transmission parameter. A second data phase may then be performed without first repeating the training phase. The second data phase may include transmitting data from the first wireless station to a second wireless station according to the data transmission parameter.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A first station device for establishing a connection with a second station device, the first station device comprising storage and processing circuitry configured to:
obtain a transmission opportunity (TxOP) from the second station device; determine a training request, the training request comprising a reservation for a first duration of the TxOP; cause to send the training request to the second station device; identify a training response from the second station device, the training response comprising an indication of a selected modulation scheme; determine a data frame to be transmitted to the second station device, wherein the data frame comprises a protection field; and cause to send the data frame to the second station device, wherein the data frame is transmitted according to the selected modulation scheme.
2 . The first station device of claim 1 , wherein the indication of the selected modulation scheme comprises selected modulation schemes for each of a plurality subcarriers.
3 . The first station device of claim 1 , wherein the second station device sends the training response within the TxOP.
4 . The first station device of claim 1 , wherein the second station device is an access point (AP).
5 . The first station device of claim 1 , wherein the training request further comprises a duration field indicative of the reservation for the first duration of the TxOP.
6 . The first station device of claim 1 , wherein the training request further comprises at least one of a signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) or a signal strength.
7 . The first station device of claim 1 , wherein the training response further comprises a forward error correction (FEC) code rate.
8 . The first station device of claim 1 , wherein the protection field indicates that the TxOP has been reserved.
9 . The first station device of claim 1 , further comprising a transceiver configured to transmit and receive wireless signals.
10 . The first station device of claim 9 , further comprising one or more antennas coupled to the transceiver.
11 . A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing computer-executable instructions for establishing a connection with a station device, when executed by at least one processor, configure the at least one processor to perform operations comprising:
obtaining a transmission opportunity (TxOP) from the station device; determining a training request, the training request comprising a reservation for a first duration of the TxOP; causing to send the training request to the station device; identifying a training response from the station device, the training response comprising an indication of a selected modulation scheme; determining a data frame to be transmitted to the station device, wherein the data frame comprises a protection field; and causing to send the data frame to the station device, wherein the data frame is transmitted according to the selected modulation scheme.
12 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 11 , wherein the indication of the selected modulation scheme comprises selected modulation schemes for each of a plurality subcarriers.
13 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 11 , wherein the station device sends training response within the TxOP.
14 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 11 , wherein the station device is an access point (AP).
15 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 11 , wherein the training request further comprises a duration field indicative of the reservation for the first duration of the TxOP.
16 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 11 , wherein the training request further comprises at least one of a signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) or a signal strength.
17 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 11 , wherein the training response further comprises a forward error correction (FEC) code rate.
18 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 11 , wherein the protection field indicates that the TxOP has been reserved.
19 . A method for establishing a connection with a station device, the method comprising:
obtaining, by one or more processors, a transmission opportunity (TxOP) from the station device; determining a training request, the training request comprising a reservation for a first duration of the TxOP; causing to send the training request to the station device; identifying a training response from the station device, the training response comprising an indication of a selected modulation scheme; determining a data frame to be transmitted to the station device, wherein the data frame comprises a protection field; and causing to send the data frame to the station device, wherein the data frame is transmitted according to the selected modulation scheme.
20 . The method of claim 19 , wherein the indication of the selected modulation scheme comprises selected modulation schemes for each of a plurality subcarriers.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
