Safety Harness For Babies
Abstract
A restraint for securing a baby on a top surface of a mattress is disclosed. The restrain includes a rectangular sheet of flexible webbing which can be secured to the mattress by a plurality of elongated loops mounted to the corners of the rectangular sheet. The elongated loops are dimensioned to wrap snuggly around the mattress such that the rectangular sheet is held taught on the surface of the mattress when the loops are wrapped around the mattress. A belt made of flexible webbing is provided to wrap around the baby and snugly secure the baby. Finally, the restraint further includes an elongated tether made of elastic webbing secured to a center portion of the rectangular sheet and to the belt, the elongated tether having a length selected to keep the belt on top of the rectangular sheet.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedTherefore, what is claimed is:
1 . A restraint for securing a baby on a top surface of a mattress having a width and a length, the restrain comprising:
a. A rectangular sheet of flexible webbing having opposite first and second sides and opposite first and second ends, the rectangular sheet having first and second corners on opposite sides of the first end and third and forth corners on opposite sides of the second end, the rectangular sheet dimensioned to have a shorter width and length than the mattress; b. a first elongated loop made of elastic webbing coupling the first and third corners, and a second elongated loop made of elastic webbing coupling the second and fourth corners, the first and second elongated loop each being dimensioned to snuggly wrap around the mattress; c. a third elongated loop made of elastic webbing coupling the first and second corners, and a forth elongated loop made of elastic webbing coupling the third and fourth corners, the third and fourth elongated loop each being dimensioned to snuggly wrap around the mattress, each of the third and fourth elongated loops having quick connect couplings for coupling to the second and fourth corners, respectively; d. an elongated band made of a flexible webbing, the elongated band having a length and opposite first and second ends, first and second complementary coupling elements being formed on the first and second ends of the elongated band, respectively, the length of the elongated band being selected to permit the band to wrap around the baby and secure the baby with the band by coupling together the first and second coupling elements; e. an elongated tether made of elastic webbing having opposite first and second ends, the first end of the elongated tether being secured to a center portion of the rectangular sheet, the second end of the elongated tether being secured to the elongated band, the elongated tether having a length selected to keep the elongated band on top of the rectangular sheet.
2 . A restraint for securing a baby on a top surface of a mattress having a width and a length, the restrain comprising:
a. A rectangular sheet of flexible webbing, the rectangular sheet having a length and width smaller than the length and width of the mattress, the rectangular sheet having four corners; b. A plurality of elongated loops made of elastic webbing mounted to the corners of the rectangular sheet, the elongated loops dimensioned to wrap snuggly around the mattress such that the rectangular sheet is held taught on the surface of the mattress when the loops are wrapped around the mattress; c. A belt made of a flexible webbing having a length and opposite ends, the belt having complimentary coupling elements formed along the length of the belt, the length of the belt being selected to permit the belt to wrap around the baby and snugly secure the baby with in the belt by engaging the coupling elements, and d. an elongated tether made of elastic webbing having opposite first and second ends, the first end of the elongated tether being secured to a center portion of the rectangular sheet, the second end of the elongated tether being secured to the belt, the elongated tether having a length selected to keep the belt on top of the rectangular sheet.
3 . A restraint for securing a baby on a top surface of a flat support member having a width and a length, the restrain comprising:
a. A rectangular sheet of flexible webbing, the rectangular sheet having a length and width smaller than the length and width of the flat support member, the rectangular sheet having four corners; b. A plurality of elongated loops made of elastic webbing mounted to the corners of the rectangular sheet, the elongated loops dimensioned to wrap snuggly around the flat support member such that the rectangular sheet is held taught on the surface of the flat support member when the loops are wrapped around the flat support member; c. A belt made of a flexible webbing having a length and opposite ends, the belt having complimentary coupling elements formed along the length of the belt, the length of the belt being selected to permit the belt to wrap around the baby and snugly secure the baby with in the belt by engaging the coupling elements, and d. an elongated tether made of elastic webbing having opposite first and second ends, the first end of the elongated tether being secured to a center portion of the rectangular sheet, the second end of the elongated tether being secured to the belt, the elongated tether having a length selected to keep the belt on top of the rectangular sheet.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
