Abstract

Device, system, and method of composing logical computing platforms. For example, a wireless computing device includes: one or more wireless transceivers to send and receive wireless communication signals; a logical platform composition manager to provide a visual indication representing a logical platform that includes said wireless computing device and one or more wireless devices; and an input unit to receive a user selection corresponding to the visual representation; wherein, in response to the user selection, the logical platform composition manager is to command the one or more wireless transceivers to establish one or more wireless communication links between the wireless computing device and the one or more wireless devices.

         16 . A computer-implemented method, comprising:
 detecting two or more available wireless devices;   presenting graphical representations of each of the two or more available wireless devices;   presenting a menu of two or more system compositions, each of the two or more system compositions comprising at least one of the two or more available wireless devices;   identifying a selected system composition of the two or more system compositions; and   sending one or more control signals to establish a plurality of wireless links, the plurality of wireless links comprising a wireless link between each of the available wireless devices included in the selected system composition.   
     
     
         17 . The computer-implemented method of  claim 16 , the two or more system compositions comprising a first system composition and a second system composition, wherein the first system composition is associated with a first task or activity and the second system composition is associated with a second task or activity. 
     
     
         18 . The computer-implemented method of  claim 17 , wherein the first task or activity comprises image editing, movie watching, or audio playback and the second task or activity comprises word processing or email checking. 
     
     
         19 . The computer-implemented method of  claim 16 , comprising updating the graphical representations of each of the available wireless devices included in the selected system composition to reflect the plurality of wireless links established. 
     
     
         20 . The computer-implemented method of  claim 16 , comprising generating a system composition of the two or more system compositions using a connect-the-dots interface to draw lines among graphical representations of available wireless devices to include in the system composition. 
     
     
         21 . The computer-implemented method of  claim 16 , the plurality of wireless links comprising one or more of an institute of electrical and electronics engineers (IEEE) 802.11 link, an IEEE 802.16 link, a Bluetooth link, a ultra-wideband (UWB) link, a radio frequency (RF) link, an infrared (IR) link, and a global system for mobile communication (GSM) link. 
     
     
         22 . The computer-implemented method of  claim 16 , wherein two or more of the plurality of wireless links are established in parallel. 
     
     
         23 . The computer-implemented method of  claim 16 , the two or more available wireless devices comprising at least one shared-resource provided by one or more computers or hardware units. 
     
     
         24 . The computer-implemented method of  claim 16 , the two or more available wireless devices comprising two or more of a desktop computer, a laptop computer, a mobile phone, or a peripheral attached to a computer. 
     
     
         25 . An apparatus, comprising:
 a processor; and   a memory comprising instructions that when executed by the processor cause the processor to:
 detect two or more available wireless devices; 
 present graphical representations of each of the two or more available wireless devices; 
   present a menu of two or more system compositions, each of the two or more system compositions comprising at least one of the two or more available wireless devices;   identify a selected system composition of the two or more system compositions; and   send one or more control signals to establish a plurality of wireless links, the plurality of wireless links comprising a wireless link with each of the available wireless devices included in the selected system composition.   
     
     
         26 . The apparatus of  claim 25 , the two or more system compositions comprising a first system composition and a second system composition, wherein the first system composition is associated with a first task or activity and the second system composition is associated with a second task or activity. 
     
     
         27 . The apparatus of  claim 26 , wherein the first task or activity comprises image editing, movie watching, or audio playback and the second task or activity comprises word processing or email checking. 
     
     
         28 . The apparatus of  claim 25 , the memory comprising instructions that when executed by the processor cause the processor to update the graphical representations of each of the available wireless devices included in the selected system composition to reflect the plurality of wireless links established.

The apparatus of  claim 25 , the memory comprising instructions that when executed by the processor cause the processor to generate a system composition of the two or more system compositions using a connect-the-dots interface to draw lines among graphical representations of available wireless devices to include in the system composition.

The apparatus of  claim 25 , the plurality of wireless links comprising one or more of an institute of electrical and electronics engineers (IEEE) 802.11 link, an IEEE 802.16 link, a Bluetooth link, an ultra-wideband (UWB) link, a radio frequency (RF) link, an infrared (IR) link, and a global system for mobile communication (GSM) link. 
     
     
         31 . The apparatus of  claim 25 , wherein two or more of the plurality of wireless links are established in parallel. 
     
     
         32 . The apparatus of  claim 25 , the two or more available wireless devices comprising at least one shared-resource provided by one or more computers or hardware units. 
     
     
         33 . The apparatus of  claim 25 , the two or more available wireless devices comprising two or more of a desktop computer, a laptop computer, a mobile phone, or a peripheral attached to a computer. 
     
     
         34 . At least one non-transitory computer-readable medium comprising a set of instructions that, in response to being executed by a processor circuit, cause the processor circuit to:
 detect two or more available wireless devices;   present graphical representations of each of the two or more available wireless devices;   present a menu of two or more system compositions, each of the two or more system compositions comprising at least one of the two or more available wireless devices;   identify a selected system composition of the two or more system compositions; and   send one or more control signals to establish a plurality of wireless links, the plurality of wireless links comprising a wireless link with each of the available wireless devices included in the selected system composition.   
     
     
         35 . The at least one non-transitory computer-readable medium of  claim 34 , the two or more system compositions comprising a first system composition and a second system composition, wherein the first system composition is associated with a first task or activity and the second system composition is associated with a second task or activity. 
     
     
         36 . The at least one non-transitory computer-readable medium of  claim 35 , wherein the first task or activity comprises image editing, movie watching, or audio playback and the second task or activity comprises word processing or email checking.

The at least one non-transitory computer-readable medium of  claim 34 , comprising instructions that, in response to being executed by the processor circuit, cause the processor circuit to update the graphical representations of each of the available wireless devices included in the selected system composition to reflect the plurality of wireless links established.

The at least one non-transitory computer-readable medium of  claim 34 , comprising instructions that, in response to being executed by the processor circuit, cause the processor circuit to generate a system composition of the two or more system compositions using a connect-the-dots interface to draw lines among graphical representations of available wireless devices to include in the system composition.

The at least one non-transitory computer-readable medium of  claim 34 , the plurality of wireless links comprising one or more of an institute of electrical and electronics engineers (IEEE) 802.11 link, an IEEE 802.16 link, a Bluetooth link, an ultra-wideband (UWB) link, a radio frequency (RF) link, an infrared (IR) link, and a global system for mobile communication (GSM) link.
