Abstract

A convex grind method for grinding a knife includes preparing a grinding tool, first angle grinding, second angle grinding, third angle grinding and polishing. The grinding tool includes an actuator, a grinding member detachably mounted on the actuator, and two guide blocks disposed at two opposite sides of the grinding member. The grinding member has two conical grinding faces, and each of the two guide blocks is formed with a guide face disposed at a vertical state and located above each of the two conic grinding faces of the grinding member. The grinding tool performs the first angle grinding, the second angle grinding and the third angle grinding to abrade the blade of a knife. Then, the blade of the knife is polished to finish the grinding process so as to form a convex grind knife.

1 . A convex grind method for grinding a knife, comprising:
 a first step of preparing a grinding tool;   a second step of first angle grinding;   a third step of second angle grinding;   a fourth step of third angle grinding; and   a fifth step of polishing;   wherein:   the first step includes preparing a grinding tool which includes an actuator, a grinding member detachably mounted on the actuator, and two guide blocks disposed at two opposite sides of the grinding member, wherein the grinding member has two conical grinding faces, each of the two guide blocks is formed with a guide face disposed at a vertical state and located above each of the two conic grinding faces of the grinding member, a clearance is defined between each of the two guide blocks and each of the two grinding faces of the grinding member, and a distance is defined between a bottom of the guide face of each of the two guide blocks and each of the two grinding faces of the grinding member and is ranged between 0.9 mm and 1.1 mm;   the second step includes:   arranging each of the two grinding faces of the grinding member at a first grinding angle ranged between 22° and 28°;   mounting the grinding member on the actuator;   starting the actuator;   driving a first face of a knife to abut the guide face of one of the two guide blocks;   moving the knife vertically downward until a blade of the knife contacts one of the two grinding faces of the grinding member;   slightly rubbing the blade of the knife on one of the two grinding faces of the grinding member by one time to two times;   driving a second face of the knife to abut the guide face of the other one of the two guide blocks;   moving the knife vertically downward until the blade of the knife contacts the other one of the two grinding faces of the grinding member; and   slightly rubbing the blade of the knife on the other one of the two grinding faces of the grinding member by one time to two times.   the third step includes:   arranging each of the two grinding faces of the grinding member at a second grinding angle ranged between 12° and 18°;   mounting the grinding member on the actuator;   starting the actuator;   driving the first face of the knife to abut the guide face of one of the two guide blocks;   moving the knife vertically downward until the blade of the knife contacts one of the two grinding faces of the grinding member;   slightly rubbing the blade of the knife on one of the two grinding faces of the grinding member by one time to two times;   driving the second face of the knife to abut the guide face of the other one of the two guide blocks;   moving the knife vertically downward until the blade of the knife contacts the other one of the two grinding faces of the grinding member; and   slightly rubbing the blade of the knife on the other one of the two grinding faces of the grinding member by one time to two times.   the fourth step includes:   arranging each of the two grinding faces of the grinding member at a third grinding angle ranged between 3° and V;   mounting the grinding member on the actuator;   starting the actuator;   driving the first face of the knife to abut the guide face of one of the two guide blocks;   moving the knife vertically downward until the blade of the knife contacts one of the two grinding faces of the grinding member;   slightly rubbing the blade of the knife on one of the two grinding faces of the grinding member by one time to two times;   driving the second face of the knife to abut the guide face of the other one of the two guide blocks;   moving the knife vertically downward until the blade of the knife contacts the other one of the two grinding faces of the grinding member; and   slightly rubbing the blade of the knife on the other one of the two grinding faces of the grinding member by one time to two times; and   the fifth step includes polishing the blade of the knife.   
     
     
         2 . The convex grind method of  claim 1 , wherein the two guide blocks are mounted on a base, and the grinding member extends through the base and is combined with the actuator. 
     
     
         3 . The convex grind method of  claim 1 , wherein:
 the guide face of each of the two guide blocks extends in an axis which intersects a central position of each of the two grinding faces of the grinding member; and   the distance is the shortest distance between the guide face of each of the two guide blocks and the central position of each of the two grinding faces of the grinding member.   
     
     
         4 . The convex grind method of  claim 1 , wherein the distance has an optimum value of 1 mm. 
     
     
         5 . The convex grind method of  claim 1 , wherein the first grinding angle has an optimum value of 25°. 
     
     
         6 . The convex grind method of  claim 1 , wherein the second grinding angle has an optimum value of 15°. 
     
     
         7 . The convex grind method of  claim 1 , wherein the third grinding angle has an optimum value of 5°. 
     
     
         8 . The convex grind method of  claim 1 , wherein each of the first grinding angle, the second grinding angle and the third grinding angle is an angle defined between each of the two grinding faces of the grinding member and the guide face of each of the two guide blocks.
