Abstract
Disclosed aspects relate to message presentation management in a social networking environment. A message from a source may be detected in the social networking environment. An identified category for the message from the source may be identified based on a set of candidate categories. A presentation format for the message from the source may be determined by comparing a set of user profile criteria with the identified category for the message from the source. The message from the source may be presented in the social networking environment using the presentation format.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A computer system for message presentation management in a social networking environment comprising a computer readable memory, a processing unit communicatively coupled to the computer readable memory, computer readable storage medium, and program instructions stored on the computer readable storage medium for execution by the processing unit via the computer readable memory, the program instructions comprising:
program instructions to detect, in the social networking environment, a message from a source; program instructions to identify, based on a set of candidate categories, an identified category for the message from the source, wherein the identified category comprises a life event characteristic, an action factor characteristic, a media characteristic, a natural language characteristic, and a temporal relevance characteristic; program instructions to determine, for a user receiving the message from the source, a set of user profile criteria by:
program instructions to prompt the user with a set of options for the set of user profile criteria;
program instructions to receive, from the user, a set of selections for the set of options for the set of user profile criteria; and
program instructions to modify the set of user profile criteria using a machine-learning technique;
program instructions to determine a presentation format for the message by comparing the set of user profile criteria with the life event characteristic, the action factor characteristic, the media characteristic, the natural language characteristic, and the temporal relevance characteristic; and program instructions to present the message to the user, in the social networking environment, according to the determined presentation format.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
