Abstract
On a touch-panel display of an image forming apparatus, pieces of information are displayed divided into five areas, that is, a system area, a function selecting area, a preview area, an action panel area and a task trigger area, of which arrangement is kept unchanged even when operational modes are switched. With such an arrangement, the same or similar pieces of information are displayed on an area arranged at the same position even in different operational modes.

2 . An image processing apparatus provided with an operation key and having a normal state and an energy-saving state, wherein
in response to an operation of said operation key, a process that differs depending on whether said image processing apparatus is in said normal state or said energy-saving state when said operation key is operated is executed.
3 . The image processing apparatus according to claim 2 , wherein
a process related to a function corresponding to said operation key is executed if said image processing apparatus is in said normal state when said operation key is operated; and a process for returning to said normal state is executed if said image processing apparatus is in said energy-saving state when said operation key is operated.
4 . The image processing apparatus according to claim 2 , wherein
said operation key is an energy-saving key causing said image processing apparatus to make a transition from said normal state to said energy-saving state.
5 . The image processing apparatus according to claim 3 , wherein
said operation key is an energy-saving key causing said image processing apparatus to make a transition from said normal state to said energy-saving state.
6 . A method of controlling an image processing apparatus provided with an operation key and having a normal state and an energy-saving state, comprising the steps of:
causing said image processing apparatus to receive an operation of said operation key; and causing said image processing apparatus to execute, in response to an operation of said operation key, a process that differs depending on whether said image processing apparatus is in said normal state or said energy-saving state when said operation key is operated.
7 . A non-transitory computer-readable recording medium recording a program for controlling an image processing apparatus provided with an operation key and having a normal state and an energy-saving state, wherein
said program causes said image processing apparatus to execute the steps of: receiving an operation of said operation key; and in response to an operation of said operation key, executing a process that differs depending on whether said image processing apparatus is in said normal state or said energy-saving state when said operation key is operated.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
