Abstract

Systems and methods described herein may operate to receive, at a search service, a first query from a user device corresponding to a current user of the search service, analyze existing search queries performed by users of the search service, and selectively provide, to the user device, a second query of the existing search queries as at least one of: a refinement of the first query based on determining that the second query includes all keywords in the first query, or an alternative to the first query based on determining that the second query lacks at least one keyword in the first query.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . (canceled)

         2 . A method comprising:
obtaining information of a previous search query submitted by a user during a previous browsing session, the information obtained to facilitate generation of a personalized electronic interface for the user; comparing the previous search query of the user to stored search queries of other users to determine a count of a number of users that performed a first search query that matches the previous search query, performed a second search query subsequent to the first search query, and performed post-search activity on at least one result of the second search query; and based on the count exceeding a threshold, providing the second search query in a widget of the personalized electronic interface for the user as a recommended search based on the previous search query.

3 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the information is obtained from a cookie submitted by the user during a later browsing session than the previous browsing session, the cookie including the previous search query.

4 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the personalized electronic interface includes a personalized webpage for the user.

5 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the second search query is provided as one of: a refinement of the previous search query based on a determination that the second search query includes all keywords in the previous search query; or an alternative to the previous search query based on the first search query missing at least one keyword in the previous search query.

6 . The method of claim 2 , further comprising:
performing a second count of a number of users that performed the first search query, performed a third search query subsequent to the first search query, and performed post-search activity on at least one result of the third search query; and wherein the second search query is provided instead of the third search query based on the count exceeding the second count.

7 . The method of claim 2 , further comprising storing the search queries of the other users based on a category constraint of the first search query matching a category constraint of the second search query.

8 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the second search query includes a plurality of search queries.

9 . The method of claim 8 , wherein a first set of the plurality of search queries include refinements of the previous search query and a second set of the plurality of search queries include alternatives to the previous search query.

10 . The method of claim 8 , wherein the plurality of search queries are ranked based on a frequency count and displayed in the widget according to the rankings.

11 . A non-transitory computer-readable medium containing instructions that, in response to being executed by one or more processors, cause a system to perform operations, the operations comprising:
obtain information of a previous search query submitted by a user during a previous browsing session, the information obtained to facilitate generation of a personalized electronic interface for the user; compare the previous search query of the user to stored search queries of other users to determine a count of a number of users that performed a first search query that matches the previous search query, performed a second search query subsequent to the first search query, and performed post-search activity on at least one result of the second search query; and based on the count exceeding a threshold, provide the second search query in a widget of the personalized electronic interface for the user as a recommended search based on the previous search query.

12 . The computer-readable medium of claim 11 , wherein the information is obtained from a cookie submitted by the user during a later browsing session than the previous browsing session, the cookie including the previous search query.

13 . The computer-readable medium of claim 11 , wherein the personalized electronic interface includes a personalized webpage for the user.

14 . The computer-readable medium of claim 11 , wherein the second search query is provided as one of: a refinement of the previous search query based on a determination that the second search query includes all keywords in the previous search query; and an alternative to the previous search query based on the first search query missing at least one keyword in the previous search query.

15 . The computer-readable medium of claim 11 , wherein the operations further comprise:
perform a second count of a number of users that performed the first search query, performed a third search query subsequent to the first search query, and performed post-search activity on at least one result of the third search query; and wherein the second search query is provided instead of the third search query based on the count exceeding the second count.

16 . The computer-readable medium of claim 11 , wherein the operations further comprise store the search queries of the other users based on a category constraint of the first search query matching a category constraint of the second search query.

17 . The computer-readable medium of claim 11 , wherein the second search query includes a plurality of search queries.

18 . The computer-readable medium of claim 17 , wherein a first set of the plurality of search queries include refinements of the previous search query, and a second set of the plurality of search queries include alternatives to the previous search query.

19 . The computer-readable medium of claim 17 , wherein the plurality of search queries are ranked based on a frequency count and displayed in the widget according to the rankings.

         20 . A system, comprising:
one or more processors; one or more non-transitory computer-readable media, containing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the system to perform operations, the operations comprising:
 obtain information of a previous search query submitted by a user during a previous browsing session, the information obtained to facilitate generation of a personalized electronic interface for the user;
compare the previous search query of the user to stored search queries of other users to determine a count of a number of users that performed a first search query that matches the previous search query, performed a second search query subsequent to the first search query, and performed post-search activity on at least one result of the second search query; and
based on the count exceeding a threshold, provide the second search query in a widget of the personalized electronic interface for the user as a recommended search based on the previous search query.

21 . The system of claim 20 , wherein the information is obtained from a cookie submitted by the user during a later browsing session than the previous browsing session, the cookie including the previous search query.
