Abstract

A moisture absorbent shower cap for moisture absorption that includes: an outer layer; an inner absorbent insert, where the inner absorbent insert includes an absorbent material, which is adapted for absorbing moisture within the moisture absorbent shower cap during use; a means to support the inner absorbent insert within the moisture absorbent shower cap; and an opening, where a user places the cap on the user's head through the opening. Preferably, the means to support the inner absorbent insert includes a pocket, where the pocket is made of material consistent with the moisture absorbent shower cap. Alternatively, the pocket is made of a mesh material and the inner absorbent insert may be further supported in the pocket through the use of a hook and loop fastener.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A moisture absorbent shower cap for moisture absorption comprising:
 a. an outer layer;   b. an inner absorbent material, where the inner absorbent material is adapted for absorbing moisture within the moisture absorbent shower cap during use;   c. a means to support the inner absorbent insert within the moisture absorbent shower cap; and   d. an opening, where a user places the cap on the user's head through the opening.   
     
     
         2 . The moisture absorbent shower cap according to  claim 1 , where the means to support the inner absorbent insert includes a pocket. 
     
     
         3 . The moisture absorbent shower cap according to  claim 2 , where the pocket is made of material consistent with the moisture absorbent shower cap. 
     
     
         4 . The moisture absorbent shower cap according to  claim 2 , where the pocket is made of a mesh material. 
     
     
         5 . The moisture absorbent shower cap according to  claim 2 , where the inner absorbent insert is further supported in the pocket through the use of a hook and loop fastener. 
     
     
         6 . The moisture absorbent shower cap according to  claim 1 , where the absorbent material is selected from the group consisting of cotton, absorbent granular gel material, desiccant materials including silica gel, calcium oxide, calcium sulfate, nylon, wicking porous plastic and polyether sulfites.
