Abstract

An electrolysis device including a cell that contains a solution and a pair of electrodes installed in the cell. One electrode of the pair of electrodes is a carbon electrode, and a liquid-contacting portion of the carbon electrode that makes contact with the solution in the cell is configured by only a three-dimensional curved face.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

1 . An electrolysis device comprising:
a cell containing a solution; and a pair of electrodes installed in the cell, wherein: one electrode of the pair of electrodes is a carbon electrode; and a liquid-contacting portion of the carbon electrode that makes contact with the solution in the cell is configured by only a three-dimensional curved face.

2 . The electrolysis device of claim 1 , wherein a containment space is provided in the cell below the pair of electrodes to contain any broken fragments from the carbon electrode.

3 . The electrolysis device of claim 2 , wherein the containment space is a space at a bottom portion of the cell having an inner diameter that decreases on progression downward.
