Abstract

The present invention relates to methods and compositions for the prevention and treatment of renal damage. The invention provides protein-based renal therapeutic agents for administration to subjects in order to prevent or treat renal degeneration or damage.

         24 . An isolated antibody that specifically binds to the contiguous amino acids of SEQ ID NO: 93.

The isolated antibody of claim  4 , wherein the antibody is selected from the group consisting of a monoclonal antibody, a polyclonal antibody, a Fv fragment of an antibody, a Fab fragment of an antibody, a F(ab′)2 fragment of an antibody, a recombinant single chain Fv fragment (scFv), a diabody, a triabody, and a tertrabody.
