Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

.- 58 . (canceled)

. A pharmaceutical composition comprising an effective amount of isolated human mesenchymal stem cell (MSC) exosomes for use in a subject having or at risk of developing a lung disease.

. The pharmaceutical composition of claim 59 , wherein the isolated human MSC exosomes are isolated from bone marrow or human umbilical cord blood

. The pharmaceutical composition of claim 59 , wherein the pharmaceutical composition further comprises a pulmonary surfactant.

. The pharmaceutical composition of claim 59 , wherein the subject is a human subject.

. The pharmaceutical composition of claim 62 , wherein the human subject is less than 4 weeks of age.

. The pharmaceutical composition of claim 62 , wherein the human subject is between 3-18 years of age.

. The pharmaceutical composition of claim 62 , wherein the human subject was born prematurely.

. The pharmaceutical composition of claim 65 , wherein the human subject was born less than 37 weeks of gestation.

. The pharmaceutical composition of claim 62 , wherein the human subject has been administered oxygen or has been on a ventilator.

. The pharmaceutical composition of claim 59 , wherein lung disease is inflammatory lung disease, lung vascular disease, or acute lung injury.

. The pharmaceutical composition of claim 59 , wherein the lung disease is pulmonary hypertension, asthma, bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD), allergy, or idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis.

. The pharmaceutical composition of claim 69 , wherein the lung disease is BPD.

. The pharmaceutical composition of claim 70 , wherein the BPD is inflammatory.

. The pharmaceutical composition of claim 70 , wherein the BPD is non-inflammatory.

. The pharmaceutical composition of claim 68 , wherein the acute lung injury is associated with sepsis or is ventilator-induced acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS).

. The pharmaceutical composition of claim 69 , wherein the subject has or is likely to develop schistosomiasis.

. The pharmaceutical composition of claim 59 , wherein the pharmaceutical composition is administered within 1 day of birth.

. The pharmaceutical composition of claim 75 , wherein the pharmaceutical composition is administered within 1 hour of birth.

. The pharmaceutical composition of claim 59 , wherein pharmaceutical composition is administered intravenously or to lungs or trachea of the subject.

. The pharmaceutical composition of claim 59 , wherein the subject is not receiving a cell or organ transplantation.
