The control unit switches a first mode for reducing a brightness of an image without inverting the brightness of the image fixedly displayed on a specific area of a screen to a second mode for inverting the brightness of the image and reducing the brightness of the image inverted, and controls a display such that the image is displayed on the area of the screen depending on the mode switched.

11 . The image display control apparatus according to the claim 5 , wherein the control circuitry determines a degree of the brightness of the first image that is to be reduced based on visibility for a doctor.
12 . The image display control apparatus according to the claim 5 , wherein the area of the first image on the display is around an area of the second image on the display.
13 . The image display control apparatus according to the claim 5 , wherein the first image is a fixedly displayed image.

17 . The image display control apparatus according to the claim 5 , wherein the control circuitry controls the display to display the first image and the second image in a full screen mode.
18 . A method of controlling brightness of a display, comprising:
controlling the display to display a first image and a second image for diagnosis, and changing the brightness of the first image displayed in an area of the first image on the display.
19 . A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing a program which when executed by a computer, causes the computer to perform a method of controlling brightness of a display, the method comprising:
