Abstract
Some embodiments of the invention include a tracheal humidification device. The tracheal humidification device may include a first body portion and a second body portion. The first body portion may include a tracheostomy connection port formed to couple with a tracheostomy connection tube; and a heat moisture exchanger port formed to couple with a heat moisture exchanger. The second body portion may be coupled with the first body portion, for example, rotatably coupled. The second body portion may include a nebulizer port formed to couple with a nebulizer and having a closable seal that is closable when the nebulizer is not coupled with the nebulizer port; and a suction port having a closable cap.

1 . A tracheal humidification device comprising:
a first body portion comprising:
a tracheostomy connection port formed to couple with a tracheostomy connection tube; and
a heat moisture exchanger port formed to couple with a heat moisture exchanger; and
a second body portion coupled with the first body portion, the second body portion comprising:
a nebulizer port formed to couple with a nebulizer and having a closable seal that is closable when the nebulizer is not coupled with the nebulizer port; and
a suction port having a closable cap.
2 . The tracheal humidification device according to claim 1 , wherein the heat moisture exchanger port extends perpendicularly from the first body portion relative to the tracheostomy connection port.
3 . The tracheal humidification device according to claim 1 , wherein the nebulizer port extends perpendicularly from the second body portion relative to the suction port.
4 . The tracheal humidification device according to claim 1 , wherein the first body portion comprises a T-piece comprising a medial arm, a distal arm, and a proximal arm, wherein the tracheostomy connection port is formed with the proximal arm, the heat moisture exchanger port is formed with the medial arm, and the distal arm is coupled with the second body portion.

The tracheal humidification device according to claim 1 , wherein the second body portion comprises a T-piece comprising a medial arm, a distal arm, and a proximal arm, wherein the proximal arm is coupled with the first body portion, the nebulizer port is formed with the medial arm, and the suction port is formed with the distal arm.
6 . The tracheal humidification device according to claim 1 , wherein the first body portion and the second body portion are rotatable relative to one another.
7 . The tracheal humidification device according to claim 1 , wherein the tracheal humidification device comprises a closed system when coupled with a heat moisture exchanger and/or the tracheostomy connection tube.
8 . The tracheal humidification device according to claim 1 , wherein the first body portion and the second body portion form a unitary body.
9 . The tracheal humidification device according to claim 1 , wherein the nebulizer port comprises a spring-loaded valve.
10 . The tracheal humidification device according to claim 1 , further comprising an oxygen inlet port.
11 . The tracheal humidification device according to claim 1 , further comprising a heat moisture exchanger removably coupled with the first body portion.
12 . A tracheal humidification device comprising:
a first T-piece having a first medial arm, a first distal arm, and a first proximal arm, wherein the first medial arm is formed to be removably coupled with a heat moisture exchanger and the first distal arm is formed to be removably coupled with a tracheostomy connection tube; and a second T-piece having a second medial arm, a second distal arm, and a second proximal arm, wherein the second proximal arm is rotatably coupled with the first distal arm; wherein the second medial arm is formed to couple with a nebulizer, and wherein the second distal arm comprises a closable cap, the second distal arm accessible as a suction port.
13 . The tracheal humidification device according to claim 12 , further comprising a heat moisture exchanger coupled with the first medial arm.
14 . The tracheal humidification device according to claim 12 , further comprising an oxygen inlet port coupled with the heat moisture exchanger.
15 . The tracheal humidification device according to claim 12 , wherein the second medial arm comprises a spring-loaded valve.
16 . The tracheal humidification device according to claim 12 , wherein the tracheal humidification device comprises a closed system when coupled with a heat moisture exchanger and/or a tracheostomy connection tube.
17 . The tracheal humidification device according to claim 12 , wherein the first T-piece and the second T-piece form a unitary body.
18 . A tracheal humidification device comprising:
a first T-piece having a first medial arm, a first distal arm, and a first proximal arm, wherein the first proximal arm is couplable with a tracheostomy connection tube; a second T-piece having a second medial arm, a second distal arm, and a second proximal arm, wherein the second proximal arm is coupled with the first distal arm, wherein the second distal arm includes a removable cap, wherein the second medial arm comprises a closable port configured to couple with a nebulizer, and wherein the second distal arm is accessible as a suction port; and a heat moisture exchanger removably coupled with the medial arm of the first T-piece, wherein the tracheal humidification comprises a closed system when the first proximal arm is coupled with the tracheostomy connection tube, and the closable port is either closed or coupled with a nebulizer; and wherein the first T-piece and the second T-piece are rotatably coupled.
19 . The tracheal humidification device according to claim 18 , further comprising an oxygen port coupled with the heat moisture exchanger.
