Abstract

The invention relates generally to the field of nanoparticles, and more specifically, in one embodiment, to bio-nanoparticle elements formed from materials comprised of self-assembling protein molecules, which are capable of coating one or more type of elements. In another invention embodiment, the invention relates to a protein that coats one or more elements in order to modify or improve one or more characteristic of the element, including, but not limited to, stability, rigidity, or functionality of the element that is coated with the instant invention.

In view of the foregoing, what is claimed is: 
     
         1 . An isolated composition for use to affix a coating comprised of a purified coat protein to an element, said composition comprising: one or more of an arrangement of said coat protein and the protein arrangements are comprised of at least one of the protein, and at least one of a manner of the protein arrangement is affixed to at least some portion of the one or more element, wherein the protein arrangement coats the element in whole or in part with the coat protein; and said protein arrangements are arrangements that are not protein cage arrangements. 
     
     
         2 . The isolated composition of  claim 1 , wherein the protein is selected from a purified clathrin, coatomer I, or coatomer II coat protein, or a fragment thereof. 
     
     
         3 . The isolated composition of  claim 2 , wherein the coat protein comprises a multiple of biologically active, biologically inert, biologically modified, chemically modified, chiral, cloned, genetically modified, hybridized, isolated, purified, recombinant, or synthetic molecules, or a combination thereof. 
     
     
         4 . The isolated composition of  claim 1 , wherein one or more of a stability, rigidity, or an integrity is provided to the element through the affixed coat protein. 
     
     
         5 . The isolated composition of  claim 1 , wherein the protein coating is affixed situated external or internal to any of the one or more element.

         7 . The isolated composition of  claim 1 , wherein the one or more element is bound together with the protein coating though an amino acid.

         11 . The isolated composition of  claim 1 , wherein the one or more element is bound together with the protein coating though a linker. 
     
     
         12 . The isolated composition of  claim 1 , wherein the one or more element is bound together with the protein coating though a PEG. 
     
     
         13 . The isolated composition of  claim 1 , wherein the one or more element is bound together with the protein coating though a peptide. 
     
     
         14 . The isolated composition of  claim 1 , wherein the one or more element is bound together with the protein coating though a molecular bridge, a tether, or a spacer. 
     
     
         15 . The isolated composition of  claim 1 , wherein the one or more element is hybridized together with the protein coating. 
     
     
         16 . The isolated composition of  claim 1 , wherein the one or more element is fused together with the protein coating. 
     
     
         17 . The isolated composition of  claim 1 , wherein the coat protein further comprises, receptors so as to capture and position the one or more element on the protein coating. 
     
     
         18 . The isolated composition of  claim 1 , wherein the protein coating is further capable of comprising a scaffold that supports the one or more element. 
     
     
         19 . The isolated composition of  claim 1 , wherein the protein coating aligns the one or more element so as to produce one or more of an arrangement comprising the elements. 
     
     
         20 . The isolated composition of  claim 19 , wherein the arrangement is of one or more of a geometry.

         24 . The isolated composition of  claim 1 , wherein the protein coating arrangement further comprises a link element so as to couple together the protein coated element with an element that is situated external or internal to said coated element.

The isolated composition of  claim 24 , wherein the link element is a biochemical, biological, chemical, electromagnetic, electrical, ESR, fiber optic, functional, Internet, linker, local, metal, MRI, NMR, PET, photonic, quantum mechanical, physical, radio, remote, ultrasound, or a wire element, or a combination thereof. 
     
     
         26 . The isolated composition of  claim 24 , wherein the link element is further used so as to communicate at least one of an information. 
     
     
         27 . The isolated composition of  claim 24 , wherein the link element is further used so as to process at least one of an information. 
     
     
         28 . The isolated composition of  claim 24 , wherein the link element is further used so as to control one or more component of  claim 1 .

A method for an isolated composition for use to affix a coating comprised of a purified coat protein to an element, said method comprising: (a) selecting said protein from a purified clathrin, coatomer I, coatomer II coat protein, or a fragment thereof, (b) forming one or more of an arrangement comprising one or more of the selected protein, (c) affixing at least one of a manner of the protein arrangement to at least some portion of the one or more element, wherein the element is coated in whole or in part with the coat protein; and said protein arrangements are arrangements that are not protein cage arrangements. 
     
     
         31 . The isolated composition of  claim 1 , wherein one or more of a transport is provided to the element through the affixed coat protein. 
     
     
         32 . The isolated composition of  claim 1 , wherein one or more of a non-immunogenic or a non-toxic is provided to the element through the affixed coat protein. 
     
     
         33 . The isolated composition of  claim 1 , wherein one or more of a therapeutic is provided to the element through the affixed coat protein.
