Abstract
A headlamp magnetically mounted on a magnifying loupe for use in cosmetic, dental, medical, surgical, hobby and any other fields where an individual would find the ability to simultaneously illuminate and magnify a small area to be advantageous. The headlamp would contain an internal power source, so that there is no longer a need for a cable to connect the headlamp with the bulky external power source that is found in traditional loupe mounted headlamps.

16 . A cordless headlamp system comprising:
An eyeglass frame worn on a user's head; a mount coupled to said eyeglass frame; a means of removably coupling a headlamp to said mount; said headlamp is further comprised of a housing with an internal space, at least one lens, and an end cap; and said internal space of said housing further comprises at least the following components: at least one control circuit in electrical communication with at least one battery and at least one light source.
17 . The cordless headlamp system of claim 16 wherein said means of removably coupling a headlamp to said mount comprises of a bayonet mount.
18 . The cordless headlamp system of claim 16 wherein said means of removably coupling a headlamp to said mount comprises of a hook and loop fastener.
19 . The cordless headlamp system of claim 16 wherein said means of removably coupling a headlamp to said mount comprises of a magnet located on said end cap that generates a magnetic field which magnetically couples to said mount.
20 . The cordless headlamp system of claim 16 wherein said means of removably coupling a headlamp to said mount comprises of a magnet located on said mount that generates a magnetic field which magnetically couples to said end camp.
21 . The cordless headlamp system of claim 16 wherein said headlamp weighs approximately 20-40 grams.
22 . The cordless headlamp system of claim 16 wherein said control circuit activates said light source when said headlamp is coupled to said mount, and said control circuit deactivates said light source when said headlamp is removed from said mount.
23 . The cordless headlamp system of claim 16 wherein said light source further comprises an LED.
24 . A cordless headlamp system comprising:
a frame worn on a user's head; a mount coupled to said frame; a at least one pin located on said mount, a headlamp comprised of a housing with an internal space, at least one lens, and an end cap configured so that a portion of the end cap can engage said pin and remaining portion of said end can does not engage said pin; said end cap further comprises a magnet coupled to said end cap to removably couple said housing to said mount and permit said housing to rotate; said internal space of said housing further comprises at least the following components: at least one control circuit in electrical communication with at least one battery, at least one light source and said end cap; wherein said control circuit changes the light intensity emitted by said light source as said housing is rotated so said portion of endcap configured to engage said pin engages or disengages with said at pin.
25 . The cordless headlamp system of claim 24 further comprising a plurality of pins located on said mount configured such that said portion of end cap configured to engage said pin engages various combination of pins depending on how much said housing is rotated.
26 . The cordless headlamp system of claim 25 wherein the luminance output from said LED varies in the range of 20,000-90,000 Lux depending on the combination of pins are engaged by said end cap.
27 . The cordless headlamp system of claim 24 wherein said luminance output from said LED is in the range of 20,000-90,000 Lux.
28 . The cordless headlamp system of claim 24 wherein said housing is cylindrical in shape.
29 . The cordless headlamp system of claim 24 wherein said color temperature output from said LED is in approximately 6300K.
