Claims

Abstract

The present invention relates to systems and methods for detecting genomic copy number changes. In particular, the present invention relates to next generation sequencing methods for detection of copy number changes.

We claim: 
     
         1 . A kit, comprising:
 a) at least one first set of primer pairs for amplification of a target nucleic acid;   b) at least one second set of primers for amplification of a first control nucleic acid on the same chromosome as said target nucleic acid; and   c) at least one third set of primer for amplification of a second control nucleic acid on a different nucleic acid than said target nucleic acid; and   d) a plurality of nucleic acid adaptors.   
     
     
         2 . The kit of  claim 1 , wherein said kit further comprises at least one sequencing primer that specifically hybridizes to said nucleic acid adaptors. 
     
     
         3 . The kit of  claim 1 , wherein said second control nucleic acid is on a different chromosome that said target nucleic acid. 
     
     
         4 . The kit of  claim 1 , wherein said first set of primers specifically hybridizes to a gene of interest. 
     
     
         5 . A composition, comprising: a target nucleic acid, at least one first set of primers that specifically hybridizes to said target nucleic acid; at least one second set of primers that specifically hybridizes to a first control nucleic acid on the same chromosome as said target nucleic acid; and at least one third set of primers that specifically hybridizes to a second control nucleic acid on a different nucleic acid than said target nucleic acid. 
     
     
         6 . The composition of  claim 5 , wherein said second control nucleic acid is on a different chromosome that said target nucleic acid. 
     
     
         7 . The composition of  claim 5 , wherein said composition further comprises a plurality of nucleic acid adaptors; and at least one sequencing primer that specifically hybridizes to said nucleic acid adaptors.
