Ventilated makeup case

Abstract

Disclosed herein are cosmetic brush cases and sponge cases having a functional interior section with a plurality of vent openings designed for airing and protecting a plurality of bristles of a makeup brush or makeup sponge. The cases are configured in such a way for both sections of the body to unite to provide a container for the head of the brush or sponge.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A makeup brush cover comprising a body member configured to define a hollow interior space configured to receive and hold bristles of a makeup brush when the makeup brush is stored in the makeup brush cover, the body member including:
 a first side and a second side, wherein the first side and the second side are configured to be opened in a first position and closed in a second position;   an inner ribbed lining disposed within the interior space and extending from the first side and the second side;   a plurality of vent openings, with a first group of the vent openings disposed in the first side and a second group of the vent openings disposed in the second side; and   a larger opening defined by a first larger opening portion formed in the first side and a second larger opening portion formed in the second side, wherein the larger opening is a circular opening, wherein the first larger opening portion and the second larger opening portion are both semicircular, and wherein the larger opening is configured to permit a handle of the makeup brush to extend from the makeup brush cover.   
     
     
         2 . The makeup brush cover of  claim 1 , wherein the body member is formed from a rigid material. 
     
     
         3 . The makeup brush cover of  claim 2 , wherein the rigid material is plastic. 
     
     
         4 . The makeup brush cover of  claim 1 , wherein the body member is formed in one of a generally rectangle shape, a generally round shape, a generally cone shape, a generally cylindrical shape, a generally triangle shape, and a generally square shape. 
     
     
         5 . The makeup brush cover of  claim 1 , wherein the first side and the second side are joined by a hinge. 
     
     
         6 . The makeup brush cover of  claim 1 , further comprising a locking mechanism disposed on the first side and the second side to lock the body member together in order to securely hold the makeup brush in the makeup brush cover. 
     
     
         7 . The makeup brush cover of  claim 1 , wherein the first side and the second side of the body member are fastened together using a thread pattern. 
     
     
         8 . The makeup brush cover of  claim 1 , wherein the body member includes protrusions extending from one of the first side or second side, wherein the protrusions are configured to permit the makeup brush cover to rest on the protrusions when placed on a surface. 
     
     
         9 . The makeup brush cover of  claim 1 , further comprising a magnetic locking member configured to secure the first side to the second side using a magnet. 
     
     
         10 . A makeup brush cover comprising:
 a body member configured to define a hollow interior space configured to receive and hold bristles of a makeup brush when the makeup brush is stored in the makeup brush cover, the body member including:
 a first side and a second side, wherein the first side and the second side are configured to be opened in a first position and closed in a second position; 
 an inner ribbed lining disposed within the interior space and extending from the first side and the second side; 
 a replaceable desiccant cartridge disposed inside the makeup brush cover to absorb humidity in the makeup brush cover; and 
 a larger opening defined by a first larger opening portion formed in the first side and a second larger opening portion formed in the second side, wherein the larger opening is a circular opening, wherein the first larger opening portion and the second larger opening portion are both semicircular, and wherein the larger opening is configured to permit a handle of the makeup brush to extend from the makeup brush cover. 
   
     
     
         11 . The makeup brush cover of  claim 10 , wherein the first side and the second side are joined by a hinge. 
     
     
         12 . The makeup brush cover of  claim 10 , further comprising a locking mechanism disposed on the first side and the second side to lock the body member together in order to securely hold the makeup brush in the makeup brush cover. 
     
     
         13 . The makeup brush cover of  claim 10 , wherein the first side and the second side of the body member are fastened together using a thread pattern. 
     
     
         14 . The makeup brush cover of  claim 10 , wherein the body member includes protrusions extending from one of the first side or second side, wherein the protrusions are configured to permit the makeup brush cover to rest on the protrusions when placed on a surface. 
     
     
         15 . The makeup brush cover of  claim 10 , further comprising a magnetic locking member configured to secure the first side to the second side using a magnet. 
     
     
         16 . A makeup brush cover comprising:
 a body member configured to define a hollow interior space configured to receive and hold bristles of a makeup brush when the makeup brush is stored in the makeup brush cover, the body member including:
 a first side and a second side, wherein the first side and the second side are configured to be opened in a first position and closed in a second position; 
 an inner ribbed lining disposed within the interior space and extending from the first side and the second side; 
 one or more humidity sensors; 
 a fan configured to cause air to flow in and out of the makeup brush cover, wherein the fan is turned on until the one or more humidity sensors detects a threshold humidity level in the makeup brush cover; and 
 a larger opening defined by a first larger opening portion formed in the first side and a second larger opening portion formed in the second side, wherein the larger opening is a circular opening, wherein the first larger opening portion and the second larger opening portion are both semicircular, and wherein the larger opening is configured to permit a handle of the makeup brush to extend from the makeup brush cover. 
   
     
     
         17 . The makeup brush cover of  claim 16 , wherein the first side and the second side are joined by a hinge. 
     
     
         18 . The makeup brush cover of  claim 16 , further comprising a locking mechanism disposed on the first side and the second side to lock the body member together in order to securely hold the makeup brush in the makeup brush cover. 
     
     
         19 . The makeup brush cover of  claim 16 , wherein the first side and the second side of the body member are fastened together using a thread pattern. 
     
     
         20 . The makeup brush cover of  claim 16 , wherein the body member includes protrusions extending from one of the first side or second side, wherein the protrusions are configured to permit the makeup brush cover to rest on the protrusions when placed on a surface.
