Abstract

A method of relicensing digital encrypted radio media content transmitted via a network and received by a user electronic device includes receiving a request to relicense an encrypted digital media data file included within digital encrypted radio media content. The encrypted digital media data file is retrieved from the digital encrypted radio media content stored in a memory of the user electronic device. The encrypted digital media data file is decrypted using a radio encryption key to generate an unbound digital media data file. The unbound digital media data file is bound with the user electronic device to generate, a bound encrypted digital media data file. The bound encrypted digital media data file is stored in the memory of the user electronic device.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 - 21 . (canceled)

         22 . A method for providing digital media files to a user electronic device, the method comprising:
 receiving a request for digital media content according to a license, the license being selected from: a license associated with radio media content or a license associated with subscription content; providing, in response to the request for digital media content, a digital media data file to a user electronic device, the digital media data file being encrypted using a content encryption key, the content encryption key being encrypted by an encryption key corresponding to the license; receiving a record of decryption from the user electronic device, the record of decryption indicating that the content encryption key for the digital media data file has been decrypted using the encryption key corresponding to the license; and charging a fee with respect to the digital media data file based upon the record of decryption.

         23 . The method of  claim 22 , wherein:
 the encryption key corresponding to the license comprises a radio encryption key that corresponds to a license associated with radio media content.

         24 . The method of  claim 22 , wherein:
 the charging of the fee comprises calculating difference in royalties associated with two or more of:
 radio media content;
 subscription content; and
 purchased content.

         25 . At least one non-transitory computer readable medium storing computer program instructions that, when executed, by a processor, result in the processor being capable of performing operations comprising:
 receiving a request for digital media content according to a license, the license being selected from: a license associated with radio media content or a license associated with subscription content; providing, in response to the request for digital media content, a digital media data file to a user electronic device, the digital media data file being encrypted using a content encryption key, the content encryption key being encrypted by an encryption key corresponding to the license; receiving a record of decryption from the user electronic device, the record of decryption indicating that the content encryption key for the digital media data file has been decrypted using the encryption key corresponding to the license; and charging a fee with respect to the digital media data file based upon the record of decryption.

         26 . The at least one non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 25 , wherein:
 the encryption key corresponding to the license comprises a radio encryption key that corresponds to a license associated with radio media content.

         27 . The at least one non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 25 , wherein:
 the charging of the fee comprises calculating difference in royalties associated with two or more of:
 radio media content;
 subscription content; and
 purchased content.
