Dialysis catheter
Abstract
A dialysis catheter including a first portion having a first diameter, an elongated distal portion having a second smaller diameter, and a transition portion The first portion includes first and second independent blood withdrawal lumens extending in the first portion, the first withdrawal lumen terminating in the transition portion in a first terminal opening and the second withdrawal lumen terminating in a second terminal opening, the first and second terminal openings being radially spaced and axially adjacent. A longitudinally extending blood delivery lumen extends in the first portion and terminates in a delivery opening in the distal portion of the catheter, the first and second terminal openings positioned proximally of the delivery opening and each of the first and second terminal openings having a curved wall surrounding a portion of the terminal opening.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A medical catheter comprising a first return lumen, a plurality of withdrawal lumens, a first clamping member having a first arm and a second arm, the first arm integral with the second arm, and a plurality of intake extension tubes, each intake extension tube communicating with an intake lumen of the catheter to provide fluid communication with the respective intake lumens, the intake extension tubes positioned in a stacked arrangement within the first clamping member, a first tag connected to the first clamping member to provide information to the user, the first tag having a first and second side wall and a bridge extending between the first and second side walls, and wherein the bridge of the first clamping member extends between the second arm of the first clamping member and the intake extension tubes.
2 . The catheter of claim 1 , further comprising an independent venous extension tube communicating with the return lumen of the catheter.
3 . (canceled)
4 . The catheter of claim 2 , further comprising a second clamping member for clamping the venous extension tube and a second tag connected to the second clamping member.
5 . (canceled)
6 . The catheter of claim 4 , wherein the second tag includes first and second sidewalls and a first bridge extending between the first and second sidewalls.
7 . In combination a clamping member and a plurality of extension tubes of a medical catheter for delivering and withdrawing blood from a patient's body, the combination comprising:
a plurality of intake extension tubes each communicating with an intake lumen of the catheter to provide fluid communication with the respective intake lumens, the intake extension tubes positioned in a stacked arrangement; and a first clamping member, the first clamping member having a first arm and a second arm, the first arm integral with the second arm, and a first tag connected to the first clamping member to provide information to the user, the first tag having a first and second side wall and a bridge extending between the first and second side walls, and wherein the bridge of the first clamping member extends between the second arm of the first clamping member and the intake extension tubes.
8 . The combination of claim 7 , further comprising a luer coupled to the plurality of intake extension tubes.
9 . (canceled)
10 . The combination of claim 7 , further comprising an independent venous extension tube communicating with a return lumen of the catheter.
11 - 12 . (canceled)
13 . The combination of claim 10 , further comprising a second clamping member for clamping the venous extension tube and a second tag connected to the second clamping member.
14 . (canceled)
15 . The combination of claim 13 , wherein the second tag includes first and second sidewalls and a first bridge extending between the first and second sidewalls.
16 . The combination of claim 7 , wherein the first clamping member has a pair of proximal posts and a pair spaced distal posts.
17 . (canceled)
18 . The combination of claim 16 , wherein the bridge of the first tag abuts one of the pair of posts of the first clamping member.
19 . The catheter of claim 1 , further comprising a plurality of posts to receive the stacked tubes to limit lateral movement thereof, an extension movable into engagement with a topmost tube of the stacked tubes, the extension movable to a position between the posts.
20 . The catheter of claim 1 , further comprising a first and second projection extending from the first and second side wall, respectively, of the first tag, and the first projection and the second projection extend within a space defined by the first clamping member and adjacent the second arm of the first clamping member.
21 . The catheter of claim 6 , further comprising a second bridge extending between the first and second sidewalls of the second tag, and wherein the first and second bridge of the second tag extend between the second arm of the second clamping member and the venous extension tube.
22 . The combination of claim 10 , further comprising a plurality of posts to receive the stacked tubes to limit lateral movement thereof, an extension movable into engagement with the venous extension tube, the extension movable to a position between the posts.
23 . The combination of claim 15 , wherein the second tag includes a second bridge extending between the first and second sidewalls, and wherein the first and second bridge of the second tag extend between the second arm of the second clamping member and the venous extension tube.
24 . The combination of claim 7 , further comprising a first and second projection extending from the first and second side wall, respectively, of the first tag, and the first projection and the second projection extend within a space defined by the first clamping member and adjacent the second arm of the first clamping member.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
