Abstract

A computer is provided that includes a lid having a display and a motion detector to detect motion or movement of a user.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . (canceled)

2 . An electronic device comprising:
a stand having a shaft; a body portion having a display; a motion detector to detect movement of a user of the electronic device, relative to the electronic device; and a motorized assembly to connect the shaft to the body portion, the motorized assembly to move at least the display to adjust a relative position of the display and the user's face based on the movement detected by the motion detector, wherein the motorized assembly includes a first motor and a second motor, the first motor to provide azimuthal movement of the body portion relative to the shaft based on the movement detected by the motion detector, and the second motor to provide pitch movement of the body portion relative to the shaft based on the movement detected by the motion detector.

3 . The electronic device of claim 2 , wherein the azimuthal movement includes clockwise movement of the body portion relative to the shaft, and counterclockwise movement of the body portion relative to the shaft.

4 . The electronic device of claim 2 , wherein the pitch movement includes a forward clockwise movement of the body portion, and a rearward counterclockwise movement of the shaft.

5 . The electronic device of claim 2 , wherein the body portion is a tablet.

6 . The electronic device of claim 5 , wherein the stand includes a docking station of the tablet.

7 . The electronic device of claim 2 , wherein the body portion is a tablet computer.

8 . The electronic device of claim 7 , wherein the stand includes a base of the tablet computer.

9 . The electronic device of claim 2 , wherein the stand is an articulating docking stand.

10 . The electronic device of claim 2 , wherein the motion detector detects movement of the user through detection of changes of position of the user's eye.

11 . The electronic device of claim 2 , wherein the motion detector includes one of a webcam, an infrared proximity sensor, stereoscopic cameras, an ultrasonic sensor or a depth camera.

12 . The electronic device of claim 2 , wherein the motion detector is at a first surface of the body portion, and the motorized assembly is at a second surface of the body portion.

13 . The electronic device of claim 12 , wherein the first surface is a front surface of the body portion, and the second surface is a rear surface of the body portion.

14 . A method for operating an electronic device, comprising:
detecting movement of a user of the electronic device, relative to the display; and moving a display of the electronic device to adjust a relative position of the display and the user's face, based at least in part on the movement detected.

15 . The method of claim 14 , wherein detecting movement of the user of the electronic device, relative to the display comprises detecting movement of the user of the electronic device with a motion detector of the electronic device.

16 . The method of claim 14 , wherein moving the display of the electronic device to adjust the relative position of the display and the user's face comprises moving the display of the electronic device with a motorized assembly of the electronic device, based at least in part on the movement detected.

17 . The method of claim 16 , wherein moving the display of the electronic device with the motorized assembly comprises rotating a body portion of the electronic device relative to a shaft of the electronic device based at least in part on the movement detected, and changing a pitch of the body portion relative to the shaft based at least in part on the movement detected.

18 . The method of claim 17 , wherein rotating the body portion of the electronic device relative to a shaft of the electronic device comprises azimuthally rotating the body portion relative to the shaft, with a first motor of the motor assembly, and based at least in part on the movement detected, and changing the pitch of the body portion relative to the shaft comprises with changing the pitch of the body portion relative to the shaft a second motor of the motor assembly, based on the movement detected.

19 . The method of claim 14 , wherein detecting movement of the user of the electronic device, relative to the display comprises detecting movement of the user of the electronic device with one of a webcam, an infrared proximity sensor, stereoscopic cameras, an ultrasonic sensor or a depth camera.
