Abstract
A light control device comprising a grid formed from a plurality of fabric ribbons positioned perpendicular to the plane defined by the grid; wherein the fabric ribbons define a plurality of one or more geometric cells within the grid for passage therethrough, of light from a light source, the geometric cells preferably offset rows of rectangles when the device is unstressed, and hexagons when the device is under tension stretched evenly in line with the fabric ribbons of the grid.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A light control device comprising:
a grid formed from a plurality of fabric ribbons positioned perpendicular to the plane defined by the grid; wherein the fabric ribbons define a plurality of one or more geometric cells within the grid for passage therethrough of light from a light source.
2 . The light control device of claim 1 , further comprising a rigid frame attached to the perimeter of the grid.
3 . The light control device of claim 2 , further comprising a circular tube attached to each outside corner of the frame.
4 . The light control device of claim 1 , wherein the geometric cells are offset rows of rectangles when the device is unstressed, and the geometric cells are hexagons when the device is stretched evenly in line with the fabric ribbons of the grid.
5 . The light control device of claim 1 , wherein fabric ribbons increase in width from one edge of the grid to the opposing edge of the grid.
6 . The light control device of claim 1 , wherein fabric ribbons increase in width from the centre of the grid to the perimeter of the grid.
7 . The light control device of claim 1 , wherein fabric ribbons decrease in width from the centre of the grid to the perimeter of the grid.
8 . The light control device of claim 1 wherein the fabric ribbon is between 0.5″ and 3″ wide.
9 . The light control device of claim 1 wherein the fabric ribbon is between 1″ and 4″ wide.
10 . The light control device of claim 1 wherein the geometric cells are concentric divided hexagons.
11 . The light control device of claim 1 , further comprising a plurality of opaque plugs having shapes corresponding to the geometric cells of the grid.
12 . The light control device of claim 1 , wherein the grid is formed of a plurality of fabric strips all having the same length.
13 . A light control device comprising a grid formed from a plurality of fabric ribbons positioned non-perpendicular to the plane defined by the grid; wherein the fabric ribbons define a plurality of one or more geometric cells within the grid for passage therethrough of light from a light, source, wherein the surface area at one open end of each geometric cell is greater than the surface area at the opposing open end of the geometric cell.
14 . The light control device of claim 13 , wherein the cell walls of each geometric cell are non-parallel.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
