Abstract

The present disclosure relates to a system having a plurality of electronic devices interconnected by way of dielectric waveguides. In some embodiments, the system has a plurality of electronic devices respectively including a data element and a transceiver element. The data element has a plurality of terminals configured to respectively output and receive data. The transceiver is configured to transmit or receive the data as a wireless signal that distinctly identifies data from different ones of the plurality of terminals. A shared resource component has a shared transceiver configured to generate a shared wireless signal that transmits a shared signal to the plurality of electronic devices by way of a plurality of dielectric waveguides. Respective ones of the plurality of dielectric waveguides are disposed between the shared resource component and one of the plurality of electronic devices.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 - 20 . (canceled)

         21 . A system, comprising:
a plurality of electronic devices comprising:
 a plurality of terminals configured to output and receive data;
a transceiver configured to at least one of transmit or receive the data as a wireless signal that identifies the data from different ones of the plurality of terminals; and
a shared resource component comprising a shared transceiver configured to generate a shared wireless signal that transmits a shared signal to the plurality of electronic devices by way of a plurality of dielectric waveguides,
respective ones of the plurality of dielectric waveguides being disposed between the shared resource component and one of the plurality of electronic devices.

22 . The system of claim 21 , where the shared signal comprises a clock signal.

23 . The system of claim 21 , where the shared resource component further comprises a controller,
where the shared transceiver is configured to receive the data from the plurality of electronic devices by way of the plurality of dielectric waveguides, and where the controller is configured to selectively generate a response signal based upon the data received by the shared transceiver.

24 . The system of claim 21 , where the plurality of electronic devices further comprise:
a multiplexing element configured to provide the data that is output from the plurality of terminals to the transceiver as temporally separated data packets.

25 . The system of claim 21 , where the plurality of dielectric waveguides comprise solid rods of dielectric material arranged onto a printed circuit board.

26 . The system of claim 21 , where the plurality of dielectric waveguides extend from a first position abutting a first one of the plurality of electronic devices to a second position abutting the shared resource component.

27 . The system of claim 21 , where the plurality of dielectric waveguides extend from a first position within a first integrated chip package of a first one of the plurality of electronic devices to a second position within a second integrated chip package of the shared resource component.

28 . The system of claim 21 , where the plurality of dielectric waveguides extend from a first position proximate to a first one of the plurality of electronic devices to a second position proximate to the shared resource component.

29 . The system of claim 21 , where the plurality of terminals are included in a data element configured to output the data from different ones of the plurality of terminals at different times.

30 . The system of claim 29 , where the data element is configured to output the data from the plurality of terminals in a cyclical manner over a plurality of cycles.

31 . The system of claim 30 , where each of the plurality of cycles are separated from adjacent ones of the plurality of cycles by a same bit pattern.
