Abstract

A method for indicating discontinuous data scheduling includes receiving discontinuous reception (DRX) indication information on an Iur interface; and sending discontinuous scheduling indication information to a base station according to the DRX indication information. A communication system and a radio network control device for implementing the method are also provided.

1 . A method, comprising:
 sending, by user equipment (UE), capability information to a radio network control device, wherein the capability information indicates that the UE supports an enhanced DRX characteristic; and   receiving, by the UE, downlink data that is discontinuously scheduled by a base station for the UE according to indication information that is from the radio network control device and generated according to the capability information.   
     
     
         2 . The method according to  claim 1 , wherein sending the capability information comprises:
 sending, by the UE, a cell update message to the radio network control device, wherein cell update message carries the capability information.   
     
     
         3 . The method according to  claim 1 , wherein sending the capability information comprises:
 sending, by the UE, a radio resource control (RRC) connection establishment complete message to the radio network control device, wherein RRC connection establishment complete message carries the capability information.

         5 . The method according to  claim 1 , wherein the indication information indicates that the UE supports the enhanced DRX characteristic. 
     
     
         6 . A device, applied to user equipment (UE), wherein the device comprises:
 a processor; and   a non-transitory computer readable storage medium, wherein the non-transitory computer readable storage medium stores a program, and the processor is configured to:
 send capability information to a radio network control device, wherein the capability information indicates that the UE supports an enhanced DRX characteristic; and 
 receive downlink data that is discontinuously scheduled by a base station for the UE according to indication information that is from the radio network control device and generated according to the capability information. 
   
     
     
         7 . The device according to  claim 6 , wherein the capability information is carried in a cell update message. 
     
     
         8 . The device according to  claim 6 , wherein the capability information is carried in a radio resource control (RRC) connection establishment complete message.

         10 . The device according to  claim 6 , wherein the indication information indicates that the UE supports the enhanced DRX characteristic. 
     
     
         11 . A method, comprising:
 receiving, by a base station, a data frame from a first radio network control device, wherein the data frame comprises downlink data and discontinuous scheduling (DRX) indication information; and   performing, by the base station, discontinuous scheduling for the downlink data according to the DRX indication information.   
     
     
         12 . The method according to  claim 11 , wherein the DRX indication information indicates that a user equipment supports an enhanced DRX characteristic. 
     
     
         13 . A device, applied to a base station, wherein the device comprises:
 a processor; and   a non-transitory computer readable storage medium, wherein the non-transitory computer readable storage medium stores a program, and the processor is configured to:
 receive a data frame from a radio network control device, wherein the data frame comprises downlink data and discontinuous scheduling (DRX) indication information that is generated according to capability information that indicates that user equipment (UE) supports an enhanced DRX characteristic; and 
   discontinuously schedule the downlink data for the UE according to the DRX indication information.   
     
     
         14 . The device according to  claim 13 , wherein the DRX indication information indicates that a user equipment supports an enhanced DRX characteristic.
