Abstract

Systems and methods are provided for displaying account information. The systems and methods may include a status display device connected to a network in a home or office environment. The status display may be configured to provide a constant status indicator, to provide a user with a quick and simple account status, without the need for multi-step login and verification processes. The status display may receive account status information from a server, the account status information excluding sensitive information identifying the user or the account. The status display may provide colored indicators to inform the user of their financial situation while reducing security risks and reducing processing capability requirements, thereby allowing for a simple status display device that can be placed throughout a household or integrated into common household items.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A display device for providing an account status, comprising:
 a processor; a display; a transceiver; and a memory having stored thereon instructions that, when executed by the processor, configure the processor to:
 establish a connection with a service provider over a communication network via the transceiver to access account status information from the service provider for a first account associated with a user;
 receive a Push update from the service provider via the connection, the Push update comprising a change in the account status information;
 determine a visual indication associated with the received change in account status information; and
 output, via the display, the determined visual indication.

         2 . The display device of claim 1 , wherein the received account status information excludes sensitive information identifying the user or the first account.

         3 . The display device of claim 1 , wherein the display comprises a multicolored light, and the determined visual indication comprises an illuminated color.

         4 . The display device of claim 1 , wherein the display comprises a display screen, and the determined visual indication comprises an image.

         5 . (canceled)

         6 . The device of claim 1 , further comprising at least one sensor, wherein the processor is configured to collect data from the at least one sensor and modify the determined visual indication outputted via the display based on the collected data.

         7 . The device of claim 6 , wherein the at least one sensor includes a microphone.

         8 . The device of claim 6 , wherein the at least one sensor includes an ambient light sensor.

         9 . A system for providing an account status, comprising:
 a transceiver; a memory; and a processor coupled to the transceiver and configured to execute instructions stored in the memory to:
 receive information for a first account associated with a user;
 determine a status for the first account;
 generate a status indicator based on the determined status, the status indicator comprising a visual representation of the status for the first account that excludes sensitive information that identifies the user or the first account; and
 transmit, by the transceiver, the status indicator to a display device.

         10 . The system of claim 9 , wherein the processor determines a status for the first account by at least one of comparing the received information to one or more thresholds or determining whether the received information contains any messages or alerts.

         11 . The system of claim 9 , wherein the processor is further configured to receive information for a second account associated with the user.

         12 . The system of claim 11 , wherein the account status information includes a single status for the first account and the second account, the single status representing the more urgent status of the first account or the second account.

         13 . The system of claim 9 , further comprising at least one sensor, wherein the processor is configured to collect data from the at least one sensor and modify the status indicator outputted via the display.

         14 . The system of claim 13 , wherein the at least one sensor includes a microphone.

         15 . The system of claim 13 , wherein the at least one sensor includes an ambient light sensor.

         16 . A computer-implemented method of providing an account status, the method comprising:
 accessing information from a database for a first account associated with a user; determining an account status for the first account based on the received information; generating, by the processor, a status indicator based on the determined account status, the status indicator excluding sensitive information that identifies the user or the first account; and transmitting, by a transceiver, the status indicator to a display device.

         17 . The method of claim 16 , wherein determining the account status comprises at least one of comparing the received information to one or more thresholds or determining whether the information contains any messages or alerts.

         18 . The method of claim 16 , further comprising receiving information for a second account associated with the user.

         19 . The method of claim 18 , wherein the status indicator includes a single status for the first account and the second account, the single status representing the more urgent status of the first account or the second account.

         20 . The method of claim 16 , further comprising:
 collecting data from at least one sensor; and modifying the status indicator transmitted to the display device, wherein the at least one sensor includes at least one of a microphone or an ambient light sensor.

         21 . The display device of claim 1 , further comprising:
 receive a second push update from the service provider via the connection, the second push update comprising a change in account status information of a second account associated with the user; determine an urgency of the received change in the account status information of the first account and the second account; determine a visual indication associated with the more urgent received change in account status information; and output, via the display, the determined visual indication associated with the more urgent received change in account status information.
