Abstract
An enhanced shopping system for facilitating grocery shopping and in-store advertising is disclosed. The system utilizes uniquely changes (1) the way grocery retail industry captures and retains customers, (2) how customers organize their shopping efforts in grocery stores, (3) the approach to advertising and reaching customers, and (4) the information available to retailers and merchandisers related to customer (a) shopping patterns, (b) responses to merchandising and advertising, and (c) specific impact of discounting/coupons.

1 . A method for creating an interactive grocery list retail grocery list, the method comprising the steps of:
(a) storing a plurality of generic retail grocery items in an electronic memory of a mobile device for selection by a consumer; (b) enabling a consumer to select said generic retail grocery items by way of an interface on said mobile device; (c) displaying said selected generic retail grocery items on a display on said mobile device; (d) electronically associating at least one purchase incentive with at least one of said generic retail grocery items to be selected by said consumer; (e) displaying said at least one purchase incentive on said display on said mobile device; (f) enabling a consumer to select a grocery item associated with said at least one purchase incentive; and (g) displaying at least one purchase incentive on said display on said mobile device along with retail grocery items to facilitate the consumers shopping experience.
2 . The method as recited in claim 1 , wherein said shopping list identifies grocery items in a particular store.
3 . The method as recited in claim 1 wherein said grocery items are identified by aisle in said store.
4 . The method as recited in claim 1 , wherein said mobile device is a mobile phone.
5 . The method recited in claim 1 , wherein said purchase incentives are associated and displayed with the respective items on the grocery list.
6 . A mobile device comprising:
a wireless system for receiving purchase incentives; and a display for displaying a grocery list, wherein said mobile device is configured to associate said purchase incentives with items on said grocery list.
