Abstract

Disclosed are a novel combination of specific therapeutics selected from S-adenosyl methionine or a salt thereof, folic acid or a metabolite or salt thereof, and one or more omega-3 fatty acids or salts thereof, useful for a variety of conditions, as discussed herein. Methods of treatment include the treatment of neuropsychiatric conditions, such as depression.

         104 . A method for treating a neuropsychiatric condition in a subject, or for promoting wellness and/or energy in a subject, the method comprising administering to the subject a therapeutically effective amount of:
 S-adenosyl methionine or a salt thereof;   methyl folate or a salt thereof; and   one or more omega-3 fatty acids or salts thereof, wherein the one or more omega-3 fatty acids or salts thereof comprises at least 60% eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) or salt thereof.   
     
     
         105 . The method of  claim 104 , wherein S-adenosyl methionine or a salt thereof is provided in a range of between about 800 mg to about 1600 mg, inclusive. 
     
     
         106 . The method of  claim 104 , wherein methyl folate or a salt thereof is provided in a range between about 5 mg to about 20 mg, inclusive. 
     
     
         107 . The method of  claim 104 , wherein the omega-3 fatty acids or salts thereof is provided in a range of between about 800 mg to about 1600 mg, inclusive. 
     
     
         108 . The method of  claim 104 , wherein S-adenosyl methionine or salt thereof is provided in a range of between about 800 mg to about 1600 mg, inclusive;
 the methyl folate or a salt thereof is provided in a range between about 5 mg to about 20 mg, inclusive; and   the omega-3 fatty acids or salts thereof is provided in a range of between about 800 mg to about 1600 mg, inclusive.   
     
     
         109 . The method of  claim 104 , comprising administering S-adenosyl methionine or a salt thereof and methyl folate or a salt thereof together in the same composition, and administering the one or more omega-3 fatty acids or salts thereof in a separate composition. 
     
     
         110 . The method of  claim 104 , comprising administering each of S-adenosyl methionine or a salt thereof, methyl folate or a salt thereof, and one or more omega-3 fatty acids or salts thereof in separate compositions. 
     
     
         111 . The method of  claim 104 , wherein the step of administering is orally administering. 
     
     
         112 . The method of  claim 104 , wherein the one or more omega-3 fatty acids or salts thereof comprises a combination of eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) or salt thereof and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) or salt thereof. 
     
     
         113 . The method of  claim 104 , wherein the subject is a mammal. 
     
     
         114 . The method of  claim 113 , wherein the mammal is a human. 
     
     
         115 . The method of  claim 104 , for treating a neuropsychiatric condition in a subject. 
     
     
         116 . The method of  claim 115 , wherein the neuropsychiatric condition is associated with atypical mood.

The method of  claim 115 , wherein the neuropsychiatric condition is selected from the group consisting of depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety disorder, stress, hormonal mood swings, mild cognitive impairment, alcoholism, dementia, Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, Huntington's disease, and psychotic disorders. 
     
     
         118 . The method of  claim 104 , wherein the method is for promoting wellness and/or energy in a subject. 
     
     
         119 . The method of  claim 104  further comprising administering one or more vitamins to the subject. 
     
     
         120 . The method of  claim 104  further comprising administering vitamin B 12  to the subject. 
     
     
         121 . The method of  claim 104 , wherein the subject is receiving or has received a prescription anti-depressant.

The method of  claim 121 , wherein the prescription anti-depressant is selected from the group consisting of selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs), serotonin and dopamine reuptake inhibitors (SDRIs), serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors (SNRIs), serotonin-noradrenaline-dopamine reuptake inhibitors (SNDRIs), norepinephrine-dopamine reuptake inhibitors (NDRIs), norepinephrine (noradrenaline) reuptake inhibitors (NRIs), monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs), selective serotonin reuptake enhancers (SSREs), melatonergic agonists, tryptamines, tricyclic anti-depressants, and atypical anti-depressants. 
     
     
         123 . A pharmaceutical composition comprising:
 S-adenosyl methionine or a salt thereof;   methyl folate or a salt thereof; and   one or more omega-3 fatty acids or salts thereof, wherein the one or more omega-3 fatty acids or salts thereof comprises at least 60% eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) or salt thereof.
