Abstract

A system, computer-readable medium, and computer-implemented method, including receiving first temporal information relating to one or more calendar events, the calendar events each having a duration equal to a day or less; receiving second temporal information relating to one or more timeline events, the timeline events each having a duration equal to or greater than a day; generating a user interface including user interface representations of an integrated calendar and timeline visualization to, in response to user input, navigate and control aspects of both the calendar events and the timeline events; and presenting, in response to user input via the user interface, a synchronized navigation and control of both the calendar events and the timeline events.

What is claimed is:

         1 . A computer-implemented method for an integrated calendar and timeline, the method comprising:
 receiving first temporal information relating to one or more calendar events, the calendar events each having a duration equal to a day or less; receiving second temporal information relating to one or more timeline events, the timeline events each having a duration equal to or greater than a day; generating a user interface including user interface representations of an integrated calendar and timeline visualization to, in response to user input, navigate and control aspects of both the calendar events and the timeline events; and presenting, in response to user input via the user interface, a synchronized navigation and control of both the calendar events and the timeline events.

         2 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising presenting a sequential navigation through user interface representations of the integrated calendar and timeline from a current view to a target view, including intervening views between the current view and the target view, in response to a user input of an indication of the target view.

         3 . The method of claim 2 , wherein an automated navigation and a manual navigation can be invoked from each of the current view, the intervening views, and the target view.

         4 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the automated navigation includes at least one of an animation, a transition, and a combination thereof between the different views.

         5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the automated navigation is invoked and presented as at least one user interface representation in response to at least one of a natural language text input and a natural language voice input.

         6 . The method of claim 1 , wherein a natural language input is analyzed to recognize at least one of a calendar, a timeline, a date, an action, and a time relevant word and combinations thereof, to an exclusion of other words.

         7 . The method of claim 6 , wherein the analysis of the natural language input includes referencing a knowledge base including, at least, one or more prior user natural language inputs and their meanings.

         8 . The method of claim 6 , wherein the action comprises a compound action that includes a plurality of single task actions to be executed in response to the natural language input.

         9 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:
 receiving at least one of an alert, a link to an address for a content item, a message, and a notification from at least one application; generating a user interface component including user interface representations for a state of the at least one alert, link to an address for a content item, and notification from at least one application; and presenting, within the user interface including the integrated calendar and timeline visualization, the generated user interface component including the user interface representations for the state of the at least one alert, link to an address for a content item, and notification from at least one application.

         10 . The method of claim 9 , wherein the at least one alert, link to an address for a content item, message, and notification from the at least one application relates to a particular user entity.

         11 . The method of claim 10 , wherein the at least one alert, link to an address for a content item, message, and notification from the at least one application relates to a particular role of the particular user entity.

         12 . A system comprising:
 a memory storing processor-executable instructions; and a processor to execute the processor-executable instructions to cause the system to:
 receive first temporal information relating to one or more calendar events, the calendar events each having a duration equal to a day or less;
 receive second temporal information relating to one or more timeline events, the timeline events each having a duration equal to or greater than a day;
 generate a user interface including user interface representations of an integrated calendar and timeline visualization to, in response to user input, navigate and control aspects of both the calendar events and the timeline events; and
 present, in response to user input via the user interface, a synchronized navigation and control of both the calendar events and the timeline events.

         13 . The system of claim 12 , further comprising presenting a sequential navigation through user interface representations of the integrated calendar and timeline from a current view to a target view, including intervening views between the current view and the target view, in response to a user input of an indication of the target view.

         14 . The system of claim 12 , wherein a natural language input is analyzed to recognize at least one of a calendar, a timeline, a date, an action, and a time relevant word and combinations thereof, to an exclusion of other words.

         15 . The system of claim 14 , wherein the action comprises a compound action that includes a plurality of single task actions to be executed in response to the natural language input.

         16 . The system of claim 12 , wherein the processor further executes the processor-executable instructions to cause the system to:
 receive at least one of an alert, a link to an address for a content item, a message, and a notification from at least one application; generate a user interface component including user interface representations for a state of the at least one alert, link to an address for a content item, and notification from at least one application; and present, within the user interface including the integrated calendar and timeline visualization, the generated user interface component including the user interface representations for the state of the at least one alert, link to an address for a content item, and notification from at least one application.

         17 . A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing processor executable instructions, the medium comprising:
 instructions to receive first temporal information relating to one or more calendar events, the calendar events each having a duration equal to a day or less; instructions to receive second temporal information relating to one or more timeline events, the timeline events each having a duration equal to or greater than a day; instructions to generate a user interface including user interface representations of an integrated calendar and timeline visualization to, in response to user input, navigate and control aspects of both the calendar events and the timeline events; and instructions to present, in response to user input via the user interface, a synchronized navigation and control of both the calendar events and the timeline events.

         18 . The medium of claim 17 , further comprising instructions to present a sequential navigation through user interface representations of the integrated calendar and timeline from a current view to a target view, including intervening views between the current view and the target view, in response to a user input of an indication of the target view.

         19 . The medium of claim 17 , further comprising:
