Abstract

The invention relates to the use of TRPC6 mRNA levels in peripheral blood cells for the early detection/diagnosis of senile dementia. Specifically, the present invention provides a classic transient receptor potential channel 6 (TRPC6) gene or protein thereof and the use of same in preparing a reagent or test kit for detecting or diagnosing Alzheimer's disease. The present invention further relates to a polypeptide used to prepare a medicament that treats AD, and relates to a composition of said polypeptide.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 - 18 . (canceled)

19 . A kit for diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease (AD), the kit comprising:
 (a) a nucleic acid chip for measuring the level of nucleic acids encoding TRPC6 and/or a pair of primers for measuring the level of nucleic acids encoding TRPC6; and (b) instructions for using the nucleic acid chip and/or pair of primers for diagnosing AD.

         20 . The kit of claim 19 , further comprising (c) a reagent.

21 . The kit of claim 20 , wherein the reagent is a reagent for extracting total RNA from peripheral blood cells.

22 . The kit of claim 20 , wherein the reagent is a reagent for performing an amplification assay.

23 . The kit of claim 22 , wherein the reagent for performing an amplification assay is selected from the group consisting of a primer, a reverse transcriptase, and a polymerase.

24 . The kit of claim 19 , wherein the pair of primers consists of SEQ ID NO:1 and SEQ ID NO: 2.

25 . The kit of claim 19 , wherein the AD is early AD.

26 . The kit of claim 19 , wherein the AD is mild cognitive impairment (MCI).
