Consumer products application device and removable cartridge

Abstract

Consumer product application device and removable cartridge for connection to a consumer product application device having one or more reservoirs and an applicator element as part of the removable cartridge for delivering one or more consumer products to an outer surface of a subject.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A removable cartridge for application of one or more consumer products to an outer surface of a subject using a consumer product application device having a processing element for controlling the delivery of the one or more consumer products from the removable cartridge when the removable cartridge is connected to the consumer product application device, the removable cartridge comprising:
 a cartridge body shaped and configured to removably connect to the consumer product application device;   one or more reservoirs, each of the one or more reservoirs for holding a consumer product and being configured to interact with a pumping element of the consumer products application device when the removable cartridge is connected to the consumer products application device; and   a first applicator element configured to apply one or more of the consumer products to an outer surface of a subject when the pumping element interacts with the one or more reservoirs to deliver one or more of the consumer products to a first surface of the first applicator element.   
     
     
         2 . A removable cartridge according to claim [00106], further comprising a cover blocking an opening of at least one of the one or more reservoirs from exposure to air outside of the cartridge. 
     
     
         3 . A removable cartridge according to  claim 2 , wherein the cover includes a puncturable material configured to be punctured by a structure of the consumer product application device when the removable cartridge is connected to the consumer product application device. 
     
     
         4 . A removable cartridge according to  claim 2 , wherein the cover is configured with a removable material. 
     
     
         5 . A removable cartridge according to claim [00106], wherein the consumer product application device includes a second applicator element configured to contact the outer surface of the subject. 
     
     
         6 . A removable cartridge according to  claim 5 , wherein the second applicator element is configured to work the one or more consumer products into the outer surface of the subject via motion of the second applicator element. 
     
     
         7 . A removable cartridge according to claim [00106], further comprising a connection element for connecting the removable cartridge to the consumer product application device. 
     
     
         8 . A removable cartridge according to  claim 6 , wherein the connection element is a connector selected from the group consisting of a screw connection, a snap connection, a pressure connection, a puncture connection, a tube connection, a gasketed connection, and any combinations thereof. 
     
     
         9 . A removable cartridge according to claim [00106], wherein the cartridge body is shaped and configured to be inserted into a receptacle of the consumer product application device. 
     
     
         10 . A removable cartridge according to claim [00106], wherein a first reservoir of the one or more reservoirs includes a piston positioned inside the first reservoir and configured to move in interaction with a pumping element of the consumer product application device to exert pressure on a first consumer product in the first reservoir to move the first consumer product to the first applicator element. 
     
     
         11 . A removable cartridge according to claim [00106], further comprising an identification element configured to interact with a reading element in communication with a processing element of the consumer products application device, the identification element configured to provide to the reading element one or more data when the removable cartridge is connected to the device. 
     
     
         12 . A removable cartridge according to  claim 11 , wherein the one or more data includes information selected from the group consisting of an identification of a consumer product within a reservoir of the one or more reservoirs, a sequence order for administering a plurality of consumer products from the one or more reservoirs, an expiration date of a consumer product within the removable cartridge, a prescription for a consumer product within the removable cartridge, an instruction for application of a consumer product from the removable cartridge, a dosing instruction for a consumer product within the removable cartridge, and any combinations thereof. 
     
     
         13 . A consumer product application device for application of one or more consumer products to an outer surface of a subject, the consumer product application device comprising:
 a removable cartridge including:
 a cartridge body shaped and configured to removably connect to the consumer product application device; 
 one or more reservoirs, each of the one or more reservoirs for holding a consumer product; and 
 a first applicator element configured to receive one or more consumer products from the one or more reservoirs and apply the one or more consumer products to an outer surface of a subject; 
   a pumping element configured to interact with the one or more reservoirs of the removable cartridge when the removable cartridge is connected to the consumer product application device to deliver the one or more consumer products to a first surface of the first applicator element; and   a processing element for controlling the pumping element.   
     
     
         14 . A consumer product application device according to  claim 13 , a second applicator element configured to contact the outer surface of the subject and to work the one or more consumer products into the outer surface of the subject. 
     
     
         15 . A consumer product application device according to  claim 14 , further comprising a motion driving mechanism connected to the second applicator element for providing a motion to the second applicator element. 
     
     
         16 . A consumer product application device according to  claim 13 , further comprising a connection element for connecting the removable cartridge to the consumer product application device, wherein the connection element is a connector selected from the group consisting of a screw connection, a snap connection, a pressure connection, a puncture connection, a tube connection, a gasketed connection, and any combinations thereof. 
     
     
         17 . A consumer product application device according to  claim 13 , further comprising:
 a reader element in communication with the processing element; and   an identification element connected to the removable cartridge, the reader element configured to read one or more data from the identification element when the removable cartridge is connected to the device.   
     
     
         18 . A consumer product application device according to  claim 17 , wherein the one or more data includes information selected from the group consisting of an identification of a consumer product within a reservoir of the one or more reservoirs, a sequence order for administering a plurality of consumer products from the one or more reservoirs, an expiration date of a consumer product within the removable cartridge, a prescription for a consumer product within the removable cartridge, an instruction for application of a consumer product from the removable cartridge, a dosing instruction for a consumer product within the removable cartridge, and any combinations thereof. 
     
     
         19 . A consumer product application device according to  claim 13 , wherein the pumping element is configured to provide a gas pressure to a first reservoir of the one or more reservoirs to force a first consumer product from the first reservoir to the first applicator element. 
     
     
         20 . A consumer product application device according to  claim 19 , further comprising a piston element actuatable by the gas pressure to force the first consumer product to the first applicator element.
