Method and mobile communication terminal for changing a configuration of a screen displaying function items

Abstract

A function for configuring a screen reflecting user preference is implemented when formlets are displayed to indicate function items of a mobile communication terminal. The size, position and shape of a formlet on which an indicator is positioned are changed by user settings in a state in which multiple formlets are displayed, thereby increasing accessibility to a formlet of high preference to a user and also increasing display visibility.

What is claimed: 
     
         1 . A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing instructions executable by a processor of an electronic device to cause the processor to at least:
 control to receive a touch input on a main menu object for providing blocks associated with a plurality of applications;   based on the touch input on the main menu object being received, control to provide the blocks on a touch screen of the electronic device, wherein one of the blocks provides first information on the one of the blocks and is provided at a first position on the touch screen in a first shape, and another of the blocks is also provided in the first shape;   based on a touch input on the one of the blocks, control to provide, with the one of the blocks, an edit menu object for providing an option for changing a shape of the one of the blocks;   based on a touch input on the option, control to provide a list of shapes;   based on a selection of a shape from the list of shapes:
 control to change the first shape of the one of the blocks to a second shape different from the first shape; 
 control to replace the first information on the one of the blocks, of which the first shape is changed to the second shape, with second information different from the first information; and 
 control to provide the edit menu object with the one of the blocks, of which the first shape is changed to the second shape and on which the first information is replaced with the second information, while maintaining the other of the blocks in the first shape; and 
   based on a touch input for the one of the blocks, of which the first shape is changed to the second shape and on which the first information is replaced with the second information:
 control to move an entire portion of the one of the blocks, of which the first shape is changed to the second shape and on which the first information is replaced with the second information, from the first position to a second position different from the first position on the touch screen; and 
 control to provide the edit menu object with the one of the blocks, of which the first shape is changed to the second shape, on which the first information is replaced with the second information, and which moved from the first position to the second position, while maintaining the other of the blocks in the first shape. 
   
     
     
         2 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of  claim 1 , wherein the one of the blocks corresponds to a phonebook application. 
     
     
         3 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of  claim 1 , wherein the first information includes an icon associated with a phonebook application. 
     
     
         4 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of  claim 1 , wherein the second information includes information regarding a phone book list that is stored in a memory of the electronic device. 
     
     
         5 . An electronic device comprising:
 a memory storing instructions; and   a processor configured to execute the instructions to at least:
 control to receive a touch input on a main menu object for providing blocks associated with a plurality of applications; 
 based on the touch input on the main menu object being received, control to provide the blocks on a touch screen of the electronic device, wherein one of the blocks provides first information on the one of the blocks and is provided at a first position on the touch screen in a first shape, and another of the blocks is also provided in the first shape; 
 based on a touch input on the one of the blocks, control to provide, with the one of the blocks, an edit menu object for providing an option for changing a shape of the one of the blocks; 
 based on a touch input on the option, control to provide a list of shapes; 
 based on a selection of a shape from the list of shapes:
 control to change the first shape of the one of the blocks to a second shape different from the first shape; 
 control to replace the first information on the one of the blocks, of which the first shape is changed to the second shape, with second information different from the first information; and 
 control to provide the edit menu object with the one of the blocks, of which the first shape is changed to the second shape and on which the first information is replaced with the second information, while maintaining the other of the blocks in the first shape; and 
 
 based on a touch input for the one of the blocks, of which the first shape is changed to the second shape and on which the first information is replaced with the second information:
 control to move an entire portion of the one of the blocks, of which the first shape is changed to the second shape and on which the first information is replaced with the second information, from the first position to a second position different from the first position on the touch screen; and 
 control to provide the edit menu object with the one of the blocks, of which the first shape is changed to the second shape, on which the first information is replaced with the second information, and which moved from the first position the second position, while maintaining the other of the blocks in the first shape. 
 
   
     
     
         6 . The electronic device of  claim 5 , wherein the one of the blocks corresponds to a phonebook application. 
     
     
         7 . The electronic device of  claim 5 , wherein the first information includes an icon associated with a phonebook application. 
     
     
         8 . The electronic device of  claim 5 , wherein the second information includes information regarding a phone book list that is stored in a memory of the electronic device. 
     
     
         9 . A method of changing a configuration of a screen, the method being performed by an electronic device, and the method comprising:
 receiving a touch input on a main menu object for providing blocks associated with a plurality of applications;   based on the touch input on the main menu object being received, displaying the blocks on a touch screen of the electronic device, wherein one of the blocks provides first information on the one of the blocks and is displayed at a first position on the touch screen in a first shape, and another of the blocks is also displayed in the first shape;   based on a touch input on the one of the blocks, displaying, with the one of the blocks, an edit menu object for providing an option for changing a shape of the one of the blocks;   based on a touch input on the option, displaying a list of shapes;   based on a selection of a shape from the list of shapes:
 changing the first shape of the one of the blocks to a second shape different from the first shape; 
 replacing the first information on the one of the blocks, of which the first shape is changed to the second shape, with second information different from the first information; and 
 displaying the edit menu object with the one of the blocks, of which the first shape is changed to the second shape and on which the first information is replaced with the second information, while maintaining the other of the blocks in the first shape; and 
   based on a touch input for the one of the blocks, of which the first shape is changed to the second shape and on which the first information is replaced with the second information:
 moving an entire portion of the one of the blocks, of which the first shape is changed to the second shape and on which the first information is replaced with the second information, from the first position to a second position different from the first position on the touch screen; and 
 displaying the edit menu object with the one of the blocks, of which the first shape is changed to the second shape, on which the first information is replaced with the second information, and which moved from the first position to the second position, while maintaining the other of the blocks in the first shape. 
   
     
     
         10 . The method of  claim 9 , wherein the one of the blocks corresponds to a phonebook application. 
     
     
         11 . The method of  claim 9 , wherein the first information includes an icon associated with a phonebook application. 
     
     
         12 . The method of  claim 9 , wherein the second information includes information regarding a phone book list that is stored in a memory of the electronic device.
