Abstract

A sunglasses supporting hat assembly includes a cap including a top wall and a perimeter wall that is attached to and extends downwardly from the top wall. The perimeter wall has a bottom edge defining a head receiving opening of the cap. A brim is attached to and extends outwardly from bottom edge. A panel is flexible and attached to an outer surface of the perimeter wall and is positioned over the brim. The panel is formable into a closed loop with the perimeter wall. A fastener is positioned on the panel to releasably retain the panel in the closed loop. The panel to receives and retains a bridge of a pair of glasses on the cap when the panel is formed into the closed loop extending around the bridge.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A head covering assembly configured for supporting a pair of glasses, said head covering assembly comprising:
a cap including a top wall and a perimeter wall being attached to and extending downwardly from said top wall, said perimeter wall having a bottom edge defining a head receiving opening of said cap, a brim being attached to and extending outwardly from bottom edge; a panel being flexible and attached to an outer surface of said perimeter wall and being positioned over said brim, said panel being formable into a closed loop extending from said perimeter wall; a fastener being positioned on said panel to releasably retain said panel in said closed loop; wherein said panel is configured to receive and retain a bridge of a pair of glasses on the cap; and a first lateral loop being attached to said outer surface of said perimeter wall and a second lateral loop being attached to said outer surface of said perimeter wall, said first and second lateral loops being positioned on opposed lateral sides of said cap and said brim extending from a front side of said cap wherein said first and second lateral loops are configured to received temples of the pair of glasses, each of said first lateral loop and said second lateral loop being constructed of a resiliently elastic material wherein said first lateral loop and said second lateral loop are configured for permitting positioning of the pair of glasses to extend over a crown of said cap while the temples of the pair of glasses are extended through said first and second lateral loops.

2 . The head covering assembly according to claim 1 , wherein said panel has a first side, a second side, a first end, a second end, a first lateral edge and a second lateral edge, said first side of said panel adjacent to said first end being attached directly to said outer surface of said perimeter wall, said second side adjacent to said second end being free such that said first and second ends are positionable adjacent to each other to form a closed loop.

3 . The head covering assembly according to claim 2 , wherein said fastener comprises a first mating member positioned on said second side adjacent to said first end and a second mating member positioned on said second side adjacent to said second end.

4 . The head covering assembly according to claim 3 , wherein said fastener comprises a hook and loop fastener.

         5 . (canceled)

6 . A head covering assembly configured for supporting a pair of glasses, said head covering assembly comprising:
a cap including a top wall and a perimeter wall being attached to and extending downwardly from said top wall, said perimeter wall having a bottom edge defining a head receiving opening of said cap, a brim being attached to and extending outwardly from bottom edge, said brim being only partially coextensive with said bottom edge; a panel being flexible and attached to an outer surface of said perimeter wall and being positioned over said brim, said panel being formable into a closed loop extending from said perimeter wall, said panel having a first side, a second side, a first end, a second end, a first lateral edge and a second lateral edge, said first side of said panel adjacent to said first end being attached directly to said outer surface of said perimeter wall, said second side adjacent to said second end being free such that said first and second ends are positionable adjacent to each other to form a closed loop; a fastener being positioned on said panel to releasably retain said panel in said closed loop, said fastener comprising a first mating member positioned on said second side adjacent to said first end and a second mating member positioned on said second side adjacent to said second end, said fastener comprising a hook and loop fastener; a first lateral loop being attached to said outer surface of said perimeter wall and a second lateral loop being attached to said outer surface of said perimeter wall, said first and second lateral loops being positioned on opposed lateral sides of said cap and said brim extending from a front side of said cap, each of said first lateral loop and said second lateral loop being constructed of a resiliently elastic material wherein said first lateral loop and said second lateral loop are configured for permitting positioning of the pair of glasses to extend over a crown of said cap while the temples of the pair of glasses are extended through said first and second lateral loops; and wherein said panel is configured to receive and retain a bridge of a pair of glasses on the cap, said first and second lateral loops being configured to received temples of the pair of glasses.

7 . A head covering assembly configured for supporting a pair of glasses, said head covering assembly comprising:
a cap including a top wall and a perimeter wall being attached to and extending downwardly from said top wall, said perimeter wall having a bottom edge defining a head receiving opening of said cap, a brim being attached to and extending outwardly from bottom edge, said brim being only partially coextensive with said bottom edge; a first lateral loop being attached to said outer surface of said perimeter wall and a second lateral loop being attached to said outer surface of said perimeter wall, said first and second lateral loops being positioned on opposed lateral sides of said cap and said brim extending from a front side of said cap, wherein said first and second lateral loops are configured to received temples of the pair of glasses, each of said first lateral loop and said second lateral loop being constructed of a resiliently elastic material wherein said first lateral loop and said second lateral loop are configured for permitting positioning of the pair of glasses to extend over a crown of said cap while the temples of the pair of glasses are extended through said first and second lateral loops.
