Abstract
An RTA furniture with a recliner is provided whereby the recliner mechanism is provided attached to the RTA component parts and provides a disassembled configuration that is substantially rectangular.

1 . A ready to assemble (RTA) article of furniture comprising:
a first configuration, being a disassembled configuration, said first configuration having an assembled functioning recliner mechanism, wherein said mechanism is constructed and arranged to be packaged with component parts; and a second configuration, whereby said second configuration is an assembled configuration, said assembled configuration completed in an assembly process utilizing said reclining mechanism, wherein said reclining mechanism is constructed with a male-female connectors configured for attachment to a furniture seat frame.
2 . The furniture of claim 1 whereby said pair of scissor recliner mechanisms have a generally planar configuration.
2 . The furniture of claim 1 wherein said male female connection is a male-female channel lock connection.
3 . The furniture of claim 1 wherein said male female connection is a male-female interlock.
4 . The furniture of claim 1 wherein said connection assembly is a detachable male-female interlock.
5 . The furniture of claim 1 wherein said recliner mechanisms connect to a foot rest by male female connectors.
6 . The furniture of claim 1 wherein said recliner mechanisms connect one to another with a connector there between.
7 . A ready to assemble (RTA) article of furniture comprising:
a first configuration, being a disassembled configuration, said first configuration having an assembled functioning recliner mechanism, wherein said mechanism is constructed and arranged to be packaged with component parts; and a second configuration, whereby said second configuration is an assembled configuration, said assembled configuration completed in an assembly process utilizing said reclining mechanism, wherein said reclining mechanism is constructed with a male-female connectors configured for attachment to a recliner foot rest.
8 . The furniture of claim 1 whereby said pair of scissor recliner mechanisms have a generally planar configuration.
9 . The furniture of claim 17 wherein said male female connection is a male-female channel lock connection.
10 . The furniture of claim 1 wherein said male female connection is a male-female interlock.
11 . The furniture of claim 1 wherein said connection assembly is a detachable male-female interlock.
12 . The furniture of claim 1 wherein said recliner mechanisms connect to a seat frame by male female connectors.
13 . The furniture of claim 1 wherein said recliner mechanisms connect one to another with a connector there between.
14 . A connection apparatus for furniture, comprising:
a pair of scissor mechanisms, one left facing and one right facing, each with a top, bottom, front and back; and a first connector attached to the bottom of each of said scissor mechanisms, said first connector adapted to receive and snap-lock a corresponding second connector mounted on a furniture base.
15 . The connection apparatus of claim 15 , wherein the furniture base comprises one of: a rocker base, a swivel base, a glider base, a glider-swivel base, a stationary base, or combinations thereof.
16 . A connection apparatus for furniture, comprising:
a pair of scissor mechanisms, one left facing and one right facing, each with a top, bottom, front and back; and one or more seat connectors attached to the top of each of said scissor mechanisms, said one or more seat connectors adapted to receive and snap-lock one or more corresponding seat box connectors mounted on a furniture seat box.
17 . The connection apparatus of claim 17 , further comprising one or more arms connected to said furniture seat box by a plurality of male-female connectors.
18 . A connection apparatus for furniture, comprising:
a pair of scissor mechanisms, one left facing and one right facing, each with a top, bottom, front and back; and a footrest connection bracket attached to the front of each scissor mechanism, said footrest connection bracket adapted to attach to a corresponding bracket on a footrest.
19 . The connection apparatus of claim 19 , wherein each scissor mechanism further comprises a seat back connection bracket attached to the back of each scissors mechanism, said seat back connection bracket adapted to attach to a corresponding bracket on a furniture seat back.
20 . A connection apparatus for furniture, comprising:
a pair of scissor mechanisms, one left facing and one right facing; and a drive bar or tube with a right end and a left end extending between the pair of scissor mechanisms and snap-lock connected thereto.
21 . The connection apparatus of claim 21 , wherein the ends of the drive bar or tube are connected to the corresponding scissor mechanism with a spring-socket ball structure.
22 . The connection apparatus of claim 21 , wherein the ends of the drive bar or tube are connected to the corresponding scissor mechanism with male/female clips.
23 . The connection apparatus of claim 21 , further comprising a foot rest release handle snap-lock mechanically linked to one end of said drive bar or tube.
24 . A connection apparatus for furniture, comprising:
a pair of scissor mechanisms, one left facing and one right facing, each with a top, bottom, front and back; and a stabilizer or support bar or tube with a right end and a left end extending between the pair of scissor mechanisms and connected by clips thereto.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
