Method for making a custom poseable, full body action figure with customized recloseable packaging

Abstract

A method for making a custom pose-able, full body action figure of an individual with customized recloseable packaging for the action figure comprises: making a head for the action figure from front and optional side view photographs; assembling a full body shape approximating that of the individual's gender, relative height and weight (i.e., body build); relative dimensions; painting the full body shape and providing it with customized apparel; and attaching the head to the full body shape in a swivelable manner. The action figure is supplemented with one or more accessories before being placed in a custom printed, repeatedly recloseable display package.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A method for making a custom pose-able, full body action figure of an individual with customized recloseable packaging for the action figure, said method comprising:
 (a) making a head for the action figure from photographs of the individual;   (b) assembling a full body shape approximating that of the individual in terms of gender and relative dimensions;   (c) painting the full body shape;   (d) providing the full body shape with customized apparel;   (e) attaching the head to the full body shape to make the action figure with the head that may be tilted or swiveled about;   (f) providing one or more custom accessories for the individual; and   (g) placing the action figure in a custom printed, repeatedly recloseable package.   
     
     
         2 . The method of  claim 1  wherein step (a) includes: (i) mocking up a scan of the individual's actual head shape from the photographs; and (ii) making a 3-D printed, proportionately sized head therefrom for eventual connection to the full body shape. 
     
     
         3 . The method of  claim 1  wherein step (b) comprises: (i) kit bashing body part components, including trunks, arms and legs, from existing doll parts; (ii) if necessary, shaving unnecessary details from one or more body part components; and (iii) if necessary, adding epoxy-made alterations to one or more body part components. 
     
     
         4 . The method of  claim 1  wherein step (b) includes: assembling the full body shape from a pre-made inventory of male and female body part components. 
     
     
         5 . The method of  claim 1  wherein step (d) includes fitting the full body shape with one or more of a shirt, pants, skirt and coat made from cloth materials. 
     
     
         6 . The method of  claim 5  wherein step (d) includes copying an outfit worn by the individual in a photograph supplied on the individual's behalf. 
     
     
         7 . The method of  claim 1  wherein the custom accessories of step (f) are selected from the group consisting of: sports gear, pet animals and one or more props associated with the individual's occupation. 
     
     
         8 . The method of  claim 1  wherein the recloseable package of step (g) includes a cartoon version of the individual. 
     
     
         9 . The method of  claim 1  wherein the recloseable package of step (g) includes an aperture or hook for hanging as a display. 
     
     
         10 . The method of  claim 1  wherein the recloseable package of step (g) includes an image of one or more parties simulating play with the action figure. 
     
     
         11 . The method of  claim 10  wherein the image of parties simulating play with the action figure can be customized using known friends or relatives of the individual. 
     
     
         12 . The method of  claim 1  wherein the recloseable package of step (g) includes a list of facts specific for the individual including one or more of: date of birth, nicknames, hometown, school(s) attended, spouse, children, current occupation. 
     
     
         13 . The method of  claim 1  wherein the recloseable package of step (g) includes a list of facts supplied for the individual including that individual's “arch nemesis”, special super powers and one or more vulnerabilities. 
     
     
         14 . The method of  claim 13  wherein the vulnerabilities are listed on the recloseable package under the heading “Kryptonite”. 
     
     
         15 . The method of  claim 1  wherein the recloseable package of step (g) includes a short narrative written specific for the individual. 
     
     
         16 . A method for making a custom pose-able, full body action figure of an individual with customized recloseable packaging for the action figure, said method comprising:
 (a) making a head for the action figure from at least a front view photograph of the individual;   (b) assembling a full body shape approximating that of the individual in terms of gender and relative dimensions;   (c) painting the full body shape;   (d) providing the full body shape with customized apparel;   (e) attaching the head in a swivelable joint manner to a neck area of the full body shape;   (f) providing one or more custom accessories for the individual; and   (g) placing the action figure in a custom printed, repeatedly recloseable package that includes a list of facts specific for the individual including one or more of: date of birth, nicknames, hometown, alma mater, spouse, children, current occupation.   
     
     
         17 . The method of  claim 16  wherein step (d) includes fitting the full body shape with one or more of a shirt, pants, skirt and coat made from cloth materials. 
     
     
         18 . The method of  claim 16  wherein the custom accessories of step (f) are selected from the group consisting of: sports gear, pet animals and one or more props associated with the individual's occupation. 
     
     
         19 . The method of  claim 16  wherein the recloseable package of step (g) further includes a list of facts supplied for the individual including that individual's “arch nemesis”, special super powers and one or more vulnerabilities. 
     
     
         20 . The method of  claim 16  wherein the recloseable package of step (g) includes an image of one or more parties known to the individual simulating play with the action figure.
