Abstract
The disclosed apparatus, systems and methods relate to a modular light, fixture body, junction box and sub assembly. The light has a central housing and can be adapted to fit with existing sockets. Further additional twist and lock components are provided, including a twist and lock luminaire body. The light can be installed without tools, and can be easily replaced, and prevents the accumulation of water within the light.

1 . A modular light comprising:
a. a junction box comprising:
i. an inner wall; and
ii. an outer wall; and
b. a captive O-ring,
wherein the O-ring is disposed between the inner wall and outer wall.
2 . The junction box of claim 1 , further comprising a generally circular junction housing.
3 . The junction housing of claim 2 , further comprising:
a. a top portion comprising:
i. at least one mounting hole; and
ii. at least one captive fastener,
wherein the captive fastener is capable of passing through the mounting hole to allow for mounting of the junction box to an external surface; b. an internal lumen comprising:
i. an internal coupling region; and
ii. a plurality of openings,
wherein the openings can serve as glue-in conduit hubs; c. a plurality of openings; d. a locking cam socket; e. a release socket; and f. at least one rollover cam socket,
wherein the rollover cam socket, release socket and locking cam socket are adapted to be selectively coupleable and lockable with various twist on components.
4 . The internal lumen of claim 3 , further comprising an internal coupling region.
5 . The junction housing of claim 3 , further comprising a plurality of outboard mounting feet and alignment marks on coupleable aspects of the housing.
6 . The modular light of claim 1 , further comprising an LED lamp.
7 . The modular light of claim 1 , further comprising a socket adaptor.
8 . The modular light of claim 1 , wherein the O-ring creates a watertight seal when compressed.
9 . The modular light of claim 1 , further comprising a watertight lock cover comprising:
a. a plurality of fastener openings; b. a drilling target; and c. a twist cover,
wherein the lock cover is made coupleable with the junction box and capable of forming watertight seal.
10 . The lock cover of claim 9 , further comprising at least one grasping portion disposed on the twist cover, wherein twisting the grasping portion relative to the junction box is facilitated.
11 . A modular light, comprising:
a. a junction box comprising:
i. an inner wall; and
ii. an outer wall;
b. an O-ring disposed between the inner wall and outer wall; and c. a twist and lock luminaire body comprising:
i. internal luminaire threads;
ii. a coupling portion comprising:
A. a circular fitting;
B. at least one locking cam;
C. at least one release lock; and
iii. at least one alignment mark,
wherein the twist and lock luminaire body is coupleable to the junction box.
12 . The twist and lock luminaire body of claim 11 , wherein the internal luminaire threads are coupleable to the male portion threads of an existing glass jar.
13 . The modular light of claim 11 , further comprising a glass jar comprising a male portion coupleable to the twist and lock luminaire body.
14 . The modular light of claim 11 , further comprising a substantially circular junction box adapter comprising:
a. at least two fasteners; b. a central opening; c. a plurality of fastener openings; d. a luminaire coupling portion comprising:
i. at least one alignment mark; and
ii. at least one grasping portion,
wherein the grasping portion and alignment mark facilitate twisting the coupling portion to couple, uncouple, lock or unlock with the luminaire body. e. a junction box coupling portion comprising at least one locking cam disposed about a circular fitting,
wherein the junction box coupling portion is adapted to twist-couple with the junction box, and further wherein the luminaire coupling portion is adapted to couple with the luminaire body.
15 . The modular light of claim 14 , wherein the fasteners of the junction box adapter are disposed through a plurality of fastener openings.
16 . The modular light of claim 15 , wherein the fastener openings facilitate the connection of the twist and lock luminaire body.
17 . The modular light of claim 11 , further comprising an LED lamp.
18 . The junction box of claim 11 , wherein the O-ring creates a watertight seal when compressed.
