System and method for communciation between functional device and home automation

Abstract

A functional device is disclosed that can collect and process data/information/parameter values from one or more sensors and compares the same with one or more predefined/threshold value to suggest one or more actions and/or generate alerts/messages/suggestions to be performed by one or a combination of remote system, wearer, home automation network, healthcare provider, doctor, caretaker, among other stakeholders. Communication between the functional device, home automation server and a computational server that stores the data is also disclosed.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A system, comprising:
 a functional device comprising of a input device, a CPU, a wireless communication module;   a webserver provisioned to receive request from functional device and translate them into a format supported by home automation gateway and forward them to home automation gateway to control at least one sensor that is communicatively coupled with home automation gateway through a secured channel;   
     
     
         2 . The system of  claim 1 , wherein the input device comprising at least one of
 a keypad;   a voice enabled device;   a gesture enabled device and;   a camera.   
     
     
         3 . The system of  claim 1 , wherein the wireless communication module comprising at least one of
 a Bluetooth;   a ZigBee   a Wi-Fi and;   a Cellular.   
     
     
         4 . The system of  claim 1 , wherein said functional device, webserver and home automation gateway are connected through a secured channel. 
     
     
         5 . The system of  claim 1 , wherein said sensors computing at least one of a light, a fan, an air conditioner, a door, a gas system, a garage door, a window, a security camera, a fire alarm and, a smoke sensor. 
     
     
         6 . The system of  claim 1 , wherein a home automation gateway device positioned at a predetermined location is coupled with the web server and sensors process the instructions received from the webserver. 
     
     
         7 . The system of  claim 1 , wherein the functional device is placed in an automobile and relays an instruction to control sensors located at a pre-determined location and upon receiving the instructions the home automation gateway coupled with webserver will process the instructions and relays the status to the functional device. 
     
     
         8 . A system, comprising:
 a functional device comprising of a processing unit, wireless module;   a webserver in communication with the functional device through a secured channel;   a home automation gateway in communication with the webserver through a secured channel;   wherein the functional device will automatically issues an action command to control at least one sensor coupled with the wireless communication module located at a predetermined location when the automobile is within the wireless range of the wireless communication module located in the predetermined location and communicatively coupled with the home automation gateway.   
     
     
         9 . The system of  claim 6 , wherein said wireless communication module can be at least one of a Wi-Fi communication module and a Bluetooth communication module. 
     
     
         10 . The system of  claim 6 , wherein said action can be preprogrammed or programmed on demand.
