Abstract
A mountable shower/bath storage caddy or container which is securable or lockable for securely storing a bottled personal hygiene item such as a bottle of shampoo, which is only accessible to a person having a code or key to unlock the container. A method of using the container and system of multiple containers for shared shower or bath enclosures are also provided.

A cabinet for storing at least one bottled personal hygiene item in a shower or bath enclosure, said cabinet comprising a back, side, top and bottom walls or panels forming a rectangular or triangular container bounding a chamber or cavity, said cabinet having an access panel hingedly affixed or slidingly engaging the container for accessing the chamber or cavity, said container further comprising a latch and locking means for securing personal hygiene items within the cabinet and allowing access by a person having authorized access to unlock the locking means.
2 . The cabinet of claim 1 wherein the locking means comprises a padlock, and the cabinet comprises a hasp for receiving the padlock.
3 . The cabinet of claim 1 wherein the locking means comprises a combination lock.
4 . The cabinet of claim 1 wherein the locking means comprises an electronic or battery operated keypad for engaging a latch for locking and securing the personal hygiene items within the cabinet.
5 . The cabinet of claim 1 wherein the locking means comprises a fingerprint recognition application.
6 . The cabinet of claim 1 further comprising mounting means for mounting the cabinet to the wall of a shower or bath.
7 . The cabinet of claim 6 wherein the mounting means comprises suction cups for affixing the cabinet to a wall.
8 . The cabinet of claim 6 wherein the mounting means comprises a separate mounting bracket.
9 . The cabinet of claim 1 wherein the chamber or cavity of the cabinet comprises a shelf.
10 . The cabinet of claim 1 wherein the chamber or cavity further comprises a hanger, hook, or holder for holding a razor or toothbrush.
11 . The cabinet of claim 1 wherein the front panel comprises a mirrored surface.
12 . The cabinet of claim 1 wherein at least the bottom wall is porous to allow for egress of water therefrom.
13 . The cabinet of claim 1 wherein the cabinet is adapted for in-wall mounting.
14 . The cabinet of claim 13 , further comprising a port or drain in communication outside of the chamber or cavity, allowing egress of water to an outer surface of a shower or bath wall.
15 . A system for securing a bottled personal hygiene item in a shower or bath enclosure shared by a plurality of users, said system comprising a plurality of cabinets of claim 1 mounted on or in a wall of the enclosure, each cabinet being assigned to and accessible by a user or users having a code or key for unlocking an access panel of one or more assigned cabinets.
16 . A method for securing a bottled personal hygiene item within a shower or bath enclosure, said method comprising:
a. providing a cabinet of claim 1 ; b. mounting the cabinet on or within a wall of the shower or bath enclosure; c. storing a bottled personal hygiene item within the cabinet; and d. locking the access panel for secure storage or unlocking and opening the access for use of the personal hygiene item.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
