Abstract
A surveillance system includes an acquisition unit configured to acquire motion information of an object detected from an image captured by an image capturing unit, an association unit configured to associate a recognition processing result of the object with the motion information, and a determination unit configured to determine, from among a plurality of objects detected from the image captured by the image capturing unit, an object to be subjected to recognition processing based on the recognition result associated with the motion information. Thus, even when a plurality of abnormal regions is simultaneously present in a region to be monitored, face recognition can be efficiently performed.

exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A surveillance system in which at least one image capturing unit and at least one information processing apparatus are connected via a communication path, the information processing apparatus comprising:
one or more processors; and a memory for storing programs to be executed by the one or more processors, wherein when the programs stored in the memory are executed by the one or more processors, the information processing apparatus functions as:
an acquisition unit configured to acquire motion direction information related to a motion direction of one or more objects detected from an image captured by an image capturing unit, wherein the motion direction is determined based on a plurality of images captured by the image capturing unit;
a recognition unit configured to recognize the one or more objects detected from the image captured by the image capturing unit; and
an association unit configured to associate a recognition processing result of the one or more objects with the motion direction information.
2 . The surveillance system according to claim 1 , wherein the association unit associates the motion direction information with a recognition processing result which includes failure of the recognition processing by the recognition unit regarding the one or more objects.
3 . The surveillance system according to claim 1 , wherein the association unit associates the motion direction information with a recognition processing result which includes success of the recognition processing by the recognition unit regarding the one or more objects.
4 . The surveillance system according to claim 1 , wherein the recognition unit executes recognition processing of each of the one or more objects detected from the image captured by the image capturing unit based on the motion direction information of each of the one or more objects detected from the image captured by the image capturing unit.
5 . A method for controlling a surveillance system in which at least one image capturing unit and at least one information processing apparatus are connected via a communication path, the method comprising:
acquiring motion direction information related to a motion direction of one or more objects detected from an image captured by an image capturing unit, wherein the motion direction is determined based on a plurality of images captured by the image capturing unit; recognizing the one or more objects detected from the image captured by the image capturing unit; and associating a result of recognition processing of the one or more objects with the motion direction information acquired in the acquiring.
6 . The method according to claim 5 , wherein, in the associating, the motion direction information is associated with a recognition processing result which includes failure of the recognition processing regarding the one or more objects.
7 . The method according to claim 5 , wherein, in the associating, the motion direction information is associated with a recognition processing result which includes success of the recognition processing regarding the one or more objects.
8 . The method according to claim 5 , wherein, in the recognizing, recognition processing of each of the one or more objects detected from the image captured by the image capturing unit is executed based on the motion direction information of each of the one or more objects detected from the image captured by the image capturing unit.
9 . A non-transitory computer readable storage medium storing computer executable instructions, the computer executable instructions for causing one or more processors to perform:
acquiring motion direction information related to a motion direction of one or more objects detected from an image captured by an image capturing unit, wherein the motion direction is determined based on a plurality of images captured by the image capturing unit; recognizing the one or more objects detected from the image captured by the image capturing unit; and associating a result of recognition processing of the one or more objects with the motion direction information acquired in the acquiring.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
