Abstract
The present invention relates to polypeptides having N-acetyl glucosamine oxidase activity and polynucleotides encoding the polypeptides. The invention also relates to nucleic acid constructs, vectors, and host cells comprising the polynucleotides as well as methods of producing and using the polypeptides.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 - 15 . (canceled)
16 . A polypeptide having N-acetyl-D-glucosamine oxidase activity, selected from the group consisting of:
(a) a polypeptide having at least 75% sequence identity to the mature polypeptide of SEQ ID NO: 2; (b) a polypeptide encoded by a polynucleotide that hybridizes under high stringency conditions with (i) the mature polypeptide coding sequence of SEQ ID NO: 1, (ii) the cDNA sequence thereof, or (iii) the full-length complement of (i) or (ii); (c) a polypeptide encoded by a polynucleotide having at least 75% sequence identity to the mature polypeptide coding sequence of SEQ ID NO: 1 or the cDNA sequence thereof; and (d) a fragment of the polypeptide of (a), (b), or (c) that has N-acetyl-D-glucosamine oxidase activity.
17 . The polypeptide of claim 16 , comprising or consisting of SEQ ID NO: 2 or the mature polypeptide of SEQ ID NO: 2.
18 . The polypeptide of claim 16 , wherein the mature polypeptide is amino acids 20 to 632 of SEQ ID NO: 2.
19 . The polypeptide of claim 16 , which has at least 20% of the antimicrobial activity of the mature polypeptide of SEQ ID NO: 2.
20 . The polypeptide of claim 19 , wherein the antimicrobial activity is assessed using a method described in Example 6, 7, 8, or 9.
21 . The polypeptide of claim 19 , wherein the antimicrobial activity is assessed as fungicidal or sporicidal effect towards any of the fungal strains Aspergillus carbonarius BR00732 (CBS 139193) and Aspergillus niger strain BR00883 (accession number CBS 139194).
22 . A cleaning composition consisting of the polypeptide of claim 16 and one or more ingredients used in cleaning compositions, such as a surfactant.
22 . A method of cleaning and/or disinfecting comprising applying the composition of claim 21 .
24 . The method of claim 22 , which is cleaning-in-place.
25 . A polynucleotide encoding the polypeptide of claim 16 .
26 . A nucleic acid construct or expression vector comprising the polynucleotide of claim 25 , wherein the polynucleotide is operably linked to one or more control sequences that direct the production of the polypeptide in a host cell.
27 . A recombinant host cell comprising the polynucleotide of claim 25 , wherein the polynucleotide is operably linked to one or more control sequences that direct the production of the polypeptide in the host cell.
28 . A method of producing a polypeptide having N-acetyl-D-glucosamine oxidase activity, comprising cultivating the host cell of claim 27 under conditions conducive for production of the polypeptide.
29 . The method of claim 28 , further comprising recovering the polypeptide.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
