Abstract
A drone package receiving system is provided, utilizing a package-to-receiver system coupler that mates to a receiver pole. The coupler is attached to the drone package and “clips” onto the receiver pole to secure the package from the drone. The receiver pole is affixed to receptacle that is at a “customer-side” end of the pole, wherein the package is translated from the pole's end into the receptacle for safe and hands-free delivery to the customer.

12 . An automatic payload receiving system, comprising:
an autonomous aerial drone; a payload attached to the drone; an external payload-to-receiver system transfer mating mechanism, attached to the payload; and location assistance receiver in the drone, adapted to provide location accuracy and docking precision for the drone when transferring the payload to the receiver system, the receiver system comprising:
a payload receptacle;
a pole extending from the receptacle and rising above the payload receptacle;
a cushion at a terminal end of the payload receptacle, to cushion the payload when entering the payload receptacle; a lockable payload receptacle door; and a location assistance transmitter attached to a top of the pole.
13 . The automatic payload receiving system of claim 12 , wherein the mating mechanism is configured to automatically release the payload from the drone when the mating mechanism is attached to the pole.
14 . The automatic payload receiving system of claim 12 , wherein the location assistance receiver in the drone and the location assistance transmitter attached to the top of the pole utilize at least one of radio, optic, and sonic signals for mating the payload to the pole.
15 . The automatic payload receiving system of claim 12 , wherein the drone is a quadrarotor aircraft.
16 . The automatic payload receiving system of claim 12 , wherein the drone aircraft is a bi-plane aircraft.

18 . The automatic payload receiving system of claim 12 , wherein the payload is attached to a drone's airfoil at an incline to the airfoil's surface.
